Sandstorm under Linux Proton / EAC issue

Hi,

Has something changed in the EAC Linux support, or is it just a temporary bug that the proton team will probably address?

"Unexpected error (#1)" during EAC splash screen.

I see that someone posted this as an issue four days ago on https://www.protondb.com/app/581320 ... while I was still playing fine yesterday.. until I upgraded my system this morning (to get the recent security update in glibc). Unfortunately there was an update to the game at the same time, so I can't be 100% sure.

For digital archeologists of the future:

It has either not been recorded, or it failed to be recorded earlier (which is expected if application uses an extension that is not recognized by Fossilize).

UPDATE:

https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/glibc/-/issues/3 has details about this, and a suggested workaround of using Flatpak steam, which still contains the necessary patch.

REQUEST to DEVELOPERS:

It appears that Insurgency Sandstorm would benefit from an EAC upgrade, as they are using a version that isn't keeping up with glibc and requires a special patch, which just happens to be included in the flatpak version of Steam.

Cheers
