Remove penetration from metrials/etc. and see how you can find basic cover (there isnt much on some maps,) and let new player see messages of penetration in their feeds

Many objects and surfaces offer concealment. Concealment is plenty enough help for newbies but it is not impervious to bullets. Most people run like lemmings out in the open or into a room, even after seeing a teammate get downed.
