Finetune gearbox not available for Freightliner M916A1, Voron D-53233 and Ford F750 <PTS 12.1> (still pressent in 12.7)

All trucks got the new gearbox except those 3, which is odd since they are the ones that could use a new gearbox the most since currently they are stuck with only 1 gearbox.

Finetune gearbox is just another cheap option,it is not much different from other gearboxes. Normal low gears should be low speed and high torque, but the low gears of this game are very weak, If the first gear cannot be climbed, the low gear will most likely be equally helpless. The finetune gearbox also cannot provide more torque.

Partially yes. But the Low minus and low gear do provide somehow a bit "more grip" than low plus.

And yes, I'd really appreciate, if that gearbox would be implemented/coded as a torque converter rather than a speed limiter.

Here is how new Finetune gearboxes compare to their counterparts:

Snowrunner gearbox - most common in scout vehicles

-<Gearbox MaxBreakFreq="25.0" MinBreakFreq="0.0" Name="g_scout_offroad" IdleFuelModifier="0.2" FuelConsumption="2.2" DamagedConsumptionModifier="1.5" DamageCapacity="150" CriticalDamageThreshold="0.6" AWDConsumptionModifier="1.8">

<ReverseGear FuelModifier="0.9" AngVel="1.5"/>

<HighGear FuelModifier="1.5" AngVel="8.0"/>

<Gear FuelModifier="1.7" AngVel="3.0"/>

<Gear FuelModifier="1.5" AngVel="6.0"/>

<Gear FuelModifier="1.3" AngVel="12.0"/>

<Gear FuelModifier="1.0" AngVel="16.0"/>

Finetune variant of the Snowrunnner gearbox

-<Gearbox MaxBreakFreq="35.0" MinBreakFreq="0.0" Name="g_scout_finetune" IdleFuelModifier="0.2" FuelConsumption="2.4" DamagedConsumptionModifier="1.5" DamageCapacity="110" CriticalDamageThreshold="0.5" AWDConsumptionModifier="1.9">

<ReverseGear FuelModifier="0.9" AngVel="1.5"/>

<HighGear FuelModifier="1.5" AngVel="8.0"/>

<Gear FuelModifier="1.8" AngVel="2.5"/>

<Gear FuelModifier="1.5" AngVel="5.0"/>

<Gear FuelModifier="1.3" AngVel="10.0"/>

<Gear FuelModifier="1.1" AngVel="13.0"/>

Short summary of changes in the finetune variant:

  • fuel consumption increased from 2.2 to 2.4
  • damage capacity decreased from 150 to 110
  • AWD fuel consumption multiplier increased from 1.8 to 1.9
  • all gears are 16-19% shorter resulting in lower top speed
  • fuel consumption slightly increased in 1st and 4th gear (+0.1)

Offroad gearbox - most common in highway, heavy duty and offroad vehicles

-<Gearbox MaxBreakFreq="25.0" MinBreakFreq="0.0" Name="g_truck_offroad" IdleFuelModifier="0.3" FuelConsumption="3.0" DamagedConsumptionModifier="1.6" DamageCapacity="220" CriticalDamageThreshold="0.4" AWDConsumptionModifier="1.4">

<Gear FuelModifier="1.5" AngVel="5.0"/>

<Gear FuelModifier="1.4" AngVel="7.5"/>

<Gear FuelModifier="1.2" AngVel="10.0"/>

Short summary of changes in the finetune variant:

  • fuel consumption increased from 3.0 to 3.2
  • damage capacity decreased from 220 to 130
  • AWD fuel consumption multiplier increased from 1.4 to 1.6
  • gears 2, 3 and 4 are 6-16% shorter resulting in lower top speed
  • fuel consumption slightly increased in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and high gear (+0.1)
  • longer reverse gear (0.5 to 0.7)
  • longer high gear (8.0 to 9.0)
  • fuel consumption penalty of damaged gearbox decreased (1.6 to 1.5)

Advanced Special gearbox - most common in Heavy vehicles

-<Gearbox MaxBreakFreq="20.0" MinBreakFreq="0.0" Name="g_special_offroad" IdleFuelModifier="0.3" FuelConsumption="3.0" DamagedConsumptionModifier="1.7" DamageCapacity="250" CriticalDamageThreshold="0.7" AWDConsumptionModifier="1.0">

<Gear FuelModifier="1.1" AngVel="3.7"/>

<Gear FuelModifier="1.0" AngVel="4.9"/>

Finetune variant of the Advanced Special gearbox

-<Gearbox MaxBreakFreq="25.0" MinBreakFreq="0.0" Name="g_special_finetune" IdleFuelModifier="0.3" FuelConsumption="4.0" DamagedConsumptionModifier="1.9" DamageCapacity="180" CriticalDamageThreshold="0.7" AWDConsumptionModifier="1.2">

<ReverseGear FuelModifier="0.9" AngVel="0.7"/>
