Fine-Tune gearboxes are really bad (12.7)

they stink

  1. The low gear feature is pointless. It'd be nice if low gear affected torque at all - but it doesn't. You can get the exact same effect by shifting into Low+ and reducing throttle (or so-called throttle)
  2. Auto is a never-ending hell of automatic gearshifts. The tightened up gear ratios cause automatic to mash through gears that can't possibly be sustained before stalling out and lurching back to first to start over again. It's horrible. The best gearboxes in this game have wide gear ratios because this avoids the flawed automatic transmission as much as possible
  3. They waste a ton of fuel compared to other options

Without a better gearbox system they're just really bad

Negligible advantage from "fine-tune" low gear are not worth the increased fuel consumption. They should have just implemented the "fine-tune" into the existing offroad/snowrunner/special advanced gearboxes.

Gearbox logic is no logic, and angular velocity is the only parameter. No one cares how much resistance there is on the tires, just change gears, and then everything starts from the beginning.

"technically" it is worth it now since they made that low- gives some kind of bullshit power that increases tire grip, and also the changes that makes all trucks underpowered now...
