Mixed race teams and trading market

Question for who might know.
If you have a competition with mixed teams and you open up the market to trade players, who can trade with each other?
Can anyone with the same race in their category trade (humans with humans, orcs with orcs etc.)?
Or do you have to be the same category to trade players (Human League with Human League only etc.)?

Hi, mixed teams don't have access to the market place.

Really!? Not even a comp with mixed only!? Was it just to hard to accommodate in development?

Why are you complaining? ! Mix race is a nice addition for fun but not serious implemented by cyanide. Nothing force them to do it. Be appreciative

Mixed race are also restricted from hiring Star Players.

I think both limits are fair considering that they have much wider roster choices.

To answer the original question, trades are always between teams of the same kind. I think Undead/Necromantic and Orc/Goblin might be special cases regarding the player types they have in common, but can't say for sure.

It's not about fair or not, if you run a mixed race only comp then the restrictions aren't necessary.

For the regular races, I've always been curious about what the purpose of the market place is? If you run a private league almost everyone is using a different race, so there is no incentive to ever open the market place. The orc/goblin etc examples you gave are probably the exception.

The only other thing is that in a private league, all competitions need to be closed in order to open the market. Again, not much incentive to use it if you are running multiple competitions.

I can see it being a lot of fun as a manager, but it seems unrealistic to use it unless you have a massive player base in your league. Has anyone on here got much time with the market place?

We had used the marketplace in a PL pre-Legendary but it was clumsy. The plan had been to create a stock of inhouse star players. It worked but just took too long.

Legendary appeared and promised mixed teams, team editors etc and thus we thought 'time to have some fun'. We were looking at amusing flawed stars and mixed teams able to actually use a marketplace as more than a gimmick (cue the BB fundamentalist "it is a gimmick" reply...).

Well, it's okay. But without marketplace (or Stars) it means the workaround for a marketplace equivalent is a slog. If you want to trade a player, then you re-create your new team at the end of every season. Better than nothing but still tedious.

As others say, without mixed races the marketplace would always struggle in smaller leagues as there may only be a handful of similar races (and most are probably developed along the same piss boring lines anyway). To really make use of it, I find it odd that it is removed from mixed races. I assume it was easier to simply not bother.

So, mixed races (which are great but need house rules to avoid morons exploiting them) and team editors are okay, but without stars and marketplace they are unrealised potential in my irrelevant opinion.

@booncabal, thats what I would like to know mate? Was it just to hard to develop for mixed races? or was it simply not included? The marketplace just seems redundant.

The marketplace is almost as retarded an idea as live-action blitz mode was in BB1. I'm glad it's there for the 12 or maybe 13 guys that are running a Human only NFL style league, but on the whole, it serves no purpose.

No it's not a retarded at all. It's a good idea that hasn't really been properly thought through or implemented.

The blitz thing was a disaster I agree, but that doesn't mean the idea itself was flawed. I don't see why it couldn't work in a speed ball / madden / fifa environment if properly done.

Anyway, if it's just a click of a button to make the marketplace and star work with mixed teams - flick it cyanide! Make this option work for those of us who embrace mixed race teams for the diversity they bring.

If not, ho hum. I'm used to missed opportunities now with BB anyway.

Agreed, if its easy to implement the market place to mixed team then do it! It would make a fun addition to the game.

As for the blitz mode, it was, er, um, different. But thats why mutant football league exists now!.
