CANNOT RUN THE GAME

A. Please check that Space Hulk: Deathwing is correctly installed:

  1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
  2. Right click on 'Space Hulk: Deathwing' and click 'Properties'.
  3. Click the tab 'LOCAL FILES' then click the button 'VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE'.

B. Please update or repair Microsoft DirectX:

  1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
  2. Right click on 'Space Hulk: Deathwing' and click 'Properties'.
  3. Click the tab 'LOCAL FILES' then click the button 'BROWSE LOCAL FILES...'.
  4. Open the folder '_CommonRedist' then the folder 'DirectX' and the folder 'Jun2010'.
  5. Run the application 'DXSETUP' (DXSETUP.exe).

C. Please install or repair Microsoft .NET Framework 4:

  1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
  2. Right click on 'Space Hulk: Deathwing' and click 'Properties'.
  3. Click the tab 'LOCAL FILES' then click the button 'BROWSE LOCAL FILES...'.
  4. Open the folder '_CommonRedist' then the folder 'DotNet' and the folder '4.0'.
  5. Run the application 'dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64' (dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe).

D. Please install or repair the library Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable:

  1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
  2. Right click on 'Space Hulk: Deathwing' and click 'Properties'.
  3. Click the tab 'LOCAL FILES' then click the button 'BROWSE LOCAL FILES...'.
  4. Open the folder '_CommonRedist' then the folder 'vcredist' and the folder '2013'.
  5. Run the application 'vcredist_x64' (vcredist_x64.exe) and click the button 'Install' or 'Repair'.
  6. Run the application 'vcredist_x86' (vcredist_x86.exe) and click the button 'Install' or 'Repair'.
  7. Back to the folder 'vcredist' and open the folder '2015'.
  8. Run the application 'vcredist_x64' (vcredist_x64.exe) and click the button 'Install' or 'Repair'.
  9. Run the application 'vcredist_x86' (vcredist_x86.exe) and click the button 'Install' or 'Repair'.

E. Please configure Space Hulk: Deathwing in administrator mode at startup:

  1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
  2. Right click on 'Space Hulk: Deathwing' and click 'Properties'.
  3. Click the tab 'LOCAL FILES' then the button 'BROWSE LOCAL FILES'.
  4. Right click on the application 'SpaceHulkGame' (SpaceHulkGame.exe) and click 'Troubleshoot compatibility'.
  5. Click 'Troubleshoot program' then check 'The program requires additional permissions' and click the button 'Next'.
  6. Click the button 'Test the program...'.
  7. Quit the game and click the button 'Next'.
  8. Click 'Yes, save these settings for this program' then click the button 'Close'.

F. Update the driver of the graphics card:

Please update the driver of the AMD graphics card from: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

NVIDIA

Please update the driver of the NVIDIA graphics card from: http://www.geforce.com/drivers

G. Run the game in borderless display mode

  • Open 'Windows Explorer' or 'File Explorer' from the taskbar.
  • Open the Local Disk '(C:)' under 'Computer' or 'This PC'.
  • Open the folder 'Users' then the folder of your Windows username.
  • Open the folder 'AppData' (*) then the folder 'Local'.
  • Open the folder 'SpaceHulkGame' then the folder 'Saved'.
  • Open the folder 'Config' then the folder 'WindowsNoEditor'.
  • Right click on the file 'GameUserSettings' (GameUserSettings.ini) and click on 'Edit'.
  • Under [/Script/SpaceHulkGame.SHUserSettings]:
    • If there is the line: PreferedFullscreenMode=0
      Replace this line by: FullscreenMode=1
    • If there is no line: PreferedFullscreenMode=0
      Add the line: FullscreenMode=1
  • Save and run the game.

Please notice that the 'AppData' folder is an hidden folder by default, to view this folder:

  • WINDOWS 7
    Click 'Organize' from the top left then 'Folder and search options'.
    Click the tab 'View' and check 'Show hidden files, folders and drives' under 'Hidden files and folders' from 'Advanced Settings'.
    Click the button 'OK'.

  • WINDOWS 8/WINDOWS 10
    Click the tab 'View' and check 'Hidden items'.

HOW TO RESET THE GAME SETTINGS

  1. Run Steam then right click on 'Space Hulk: Deathwing' under 'LIBRARY' and click 'Properties'.
  2. Click on the tab 'UPDATES' then uncheck 'Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Space Hulk: Deathwing' under 'Steam Cloud' and click 'CLOSE'.
  3. Open 'Windows Explorer' or 'File Explorer' from the taskbar.
  4. Open the Local Disk '(C:)' under 'Computer' or 'This PC'.
  5. Open the folder 'Users' then the folder of your Windows username.
  6. Open the folder 'AppData' (*) then the folder 'Local'.
  7. Delete the folder 'SpaceHulkGame' and run the game.
  8. Quit the game and enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Space Hulk: Deathwing under 'Steam Cloud' and click 'CLOSE'.
  9. Run the game.
  10. Click the button 'UPLOAD TO STEAM CLOUD' from 'LOCAL FILES' under 'Steam - Cloud Sync Conflict'.

(*) The 'AppData' folder is an hidden folder by default, to view this folder:

  • WINDOWS 7
    Click 'Organize' from the top left then 'Folder and search options'.
    Click the tab 'View' and check 'Show hidden files, folders and drives' under 'Hidden files and folders' from 'Advanced Settings'.
    Click the button 'OK'.

  • WINDOWS 8/WINDOWS 10
    Click the tab 'View' and check 'Hidden items'.

HOW TO REPORT A PROBLEM

Please use the 'Bug Reports' forum section to report any problems you encounter from Space Hulk: Deathwing.

A. Provide a System Information report:

  1. Press the keys Windows Start (bottom left) and 'R' from the keyboard to open the 'Run dialog box' and type: MSINFO32
  2. Click the button 'OK'.
  3. Click 'System Summary' (upper left).
  4. Click 'File' then 'Export...'.
  5. Enter a file name (from File name:) and save the file on the Desktop (click Desktop under Favorites, upper left).
  6. Close System Information.
  7. Right click on the file located on the Desktop and click 'Send To' then 'Compressed (zipped) folder'.

B. Provide the crash dump (if you have one):

  1. Open 'Windows Explorer' or 'File Explorer' from the taskbar.
  2. Open the Local Disk '(C:)' under 'Computer' or 'This PC'.
  3. Open the folder 'Users' then the folder of your Windows username.
  4. Open the folder 'AppData' (*) then the folder 'Local'.
  5. Open the folder 'SpaceHulkGame' then the folder 'Saved'.
  6. Open the folder 'Logs'.

If you crashed, the game automatically creates a folder.
Right click on the folder and click 'Send To' then 'Compressed (zipped) folder'.

C. Post your report with a description of the problem and add the System Information report and the crash dump in attachment.
