AI use of explosives.

Old Insurgency, you grouped, you die. Good system.

New Insurgency, random death events have new delivery systems, notably the M203 unavoidable random death event machine. Bad system.

Can we please get two categories of use the AI make with explosives?

  1. You are grouped.
  2. The AI are trying to retake an objective. They should grenade/rocket all windows, forcing defenders to adopt an active defence around the perimeter and actively firing / suppressing out of windows instead of sitting in a corner and mowing the AI down as they file through the staircase in a tidy line.

Great system.

Make that 3.

  1. You are on a technical MG, using a sniper rifle, binoculars or LMG.

In CONCEPT that would work, but it would require them to actually do some work on the AI AND the maps...as it stands now, most maps have you holed up in a tiny room/house anyway, so there either aren't enough windows -or- the bots would kill you all simply by firing exp at the windows...they're already OP as it is.

In principle it would work. The maps don't need changing but the AI would need some work.

What it would do is cause players to have to set up active defences around a perimeter of an objective, with a couple of people blocking in the centre of the objective and the remainder of the team thinning the horde from flanks, vantage points, etc. This would encourage the thing Insurgency has as its selling point: Teamwork.

If you enjoy sitting in a corner and mowing the horde down as they come up the stairs, that is an experience you can get, polished to a mirror shine, in Left4Dead.
