Well boys and girls, I'm out.

I've just put in for refund.

Thanks for all the decent discussions and attempts to make the devs see sense (in both delaying the game and general balance issues) but I don't want yet another game in my library where I'm thinking... hey this could be great in 6 months or a year.

The A.I leaves so so much to be desired, I just don't get a whole lot of fun out of shooting things that value cap points over the destruction of their ships, it feels so incredibly gamey.

I've been trying hard to eck out some fun in multi but between tau bomber spam, Nid and Marine boarding and undercosted Orcs, there's very little there.

I wish everyone who's sticking with it the best and I sincerely hope Tindalos makes this the game you're all hoping for.

I feel you. Im currently abit skeptical as well. The game has such huge balance issues currently and its basicly the same issue (with different factions) that broke the first game for me...

Im sticking with the game abit longer. See how the release patch makes the game but im afraid it wont fix enough 😞

I am staying solely because it’s the most only game besides dark crusade and soulstorm with Necron playability, and even then those two had short campaigns and they weren’t exactly protagonists. Might leave if things don’t get better for them though.

Making a performing AI in a tactical type of game is very, very hard. Think fighting the AI in total war or fighting against bots in world of warship.

It's a pity you don't enjoy the multiplayer because that is where the game shines.

As for the campaign, we have seen too little to make a judgement there in my opinion.

Too bad you didn't like the game. Hope you can find your dream game somewhere out there.

Yeah man no AI is going to compare to playing a real human in a competitive rts. Sorry to hear you're not enjoying MP. I mostly play 2v2 and haven't run into too many nasty balance issues. Necrons could probably use something though. Good luck!

balance is fucked but MP is still a lot of fun.

This, and the devs actually listen to the feedback and try to fix the issues. They are cool guys, but they are no big company.

Can't say I blame you, in the same boat myself. There's not enough meat on the bones as a singleplayer.

Gladius has them as an option too, just FYI.

Multiplayer isn't that balanced yet.

But as others mentioned before, it's quite entertaining nonetheless.

WRONG, this games AI can't even path correctly without smahing its own escorts, and that's the least of the AI issues here.

And the multiplayer is only shining if you're a boarding pleb. All other builds are invalid atm.

@DrunkBaconGod Bad player detected. Though boarding certainly over performs now.

You call me bad for talking about crap AI, and agree with me about MP. I'm not sure how your logic works but an example in 2v2, take a 500cost battleship and see how many space marine hard-ons you will get 🙂

@romeo fair enough, gladius is kind of bare bones though, no cutscenes besides the opening and only a couple of textblocks. It’s still a good game, but this is much more involved. That and I beat it ~10 times already, and I might get some actual Necron lore out of this.

I can't blame him. It's not simply a case of not finding balance. It's a case of not having substance.

I made the suggestion to 2 of my friends not to pick up the product/ return it. Knowing they wouldn't get value from it.

One of the guys plays 3vs3 and higher, and the other doesn't have time to devote to playing much of it, and the time he would get would not hold value for him as a player

sad thing is there is enough game here and the bones are in okay shape but having faith in the devs to give it the post launch support it would require to actually flesh it out is unrealistic given how they handled the last game.

Honestly, I'm still riding the Stellar Impact wave. I want that game again, lol.

Take the Warhammer 40K IP they licensed you and give me 40K Stellar Impact.

God I wish that game still had players

Your loss. Tau bomber spam/space Marines etc. can all be countered bar tyranids if you gave some thought into your strategy/fleet comp and expirimented. You just want everyone to fall down at your feet and when they dont you cry.

I can't blame you. I came to late for BFGA1 and was kinda glad that I would be here in the beginning while you could still find matches. I planned to grind a nice fleet and manage it. However now there is no fleet management but just simple soulless ships that auto respawn every game. Also there is this forced capture mode in multiplayer which is just not fun. I currently cannot bring myself to play more multiplayer games, as I had already lost twice to this capture nonsense and quit the fight.

I mean if every tenth game would be capture a point amid the nothingness it would be alright, because you could just quit these games, but every single game with this horrible chase the escort mode...

@ those crying about chasing escort, if you still have so many ships that you crushed the fights, why you don t just cap 3 VPs and hold them until you win instead of chasing something faster than you across all map?

I'll go further. If you're slower than your opponent, start the match by capping three points that are relatively close together and have a bit of cloud / asteroid cover. Keep your fleet loosely clustered in the middle and shoot / move toward the enemy if they step on one of your 3 points and reveal themselves. At no point do you need to mindlessly run at your opponent.

I've had so many people chase me around the map as like grand cruiser IN vs drukhari and then complain that the game mode is unfair and unfun. You won't catch drukhari with 160 speed ships. Defend 3 points.
