Fighting Dark Eldar Sucks

I'm not going to claim that they're OP or anything like that, because they're not. I know there's ways to counter them and all that.

That said... if I wanted to play hide and seek, I would have had children. Instead, I decided to get addicted to plastic crack and live out sci-fi fantasies in the grim darkness of the far future where there is only war.

I get the point of Dark Eldar. Their tactics are very much in line with the story behind them, they reward clever strategy, and I understand the niche of the "stealth fleet." I just wish fighting them wasn't so infuriating. At this point I just immediately capitulate when I'm up against them, simply because I want to move on to a match that might actually have some semblance of fun.

Ditto mate, can't be arsed playing against them here either.

@brohanbroski I don't think they are OP, just very boring to play against.

@bosie
I think they are both. I also dodge them half the time. The game would be better with a stealth rework, or if DE didnt exist ^^

well complaining about them is one thing lol, maybe list what fleets your using and actually ask people to give you tips 😛 most of the legend players i know love fighting DE cos its an easy win for those who have the right build and tactics. In general bringing fewer, slower ships is pretty much a loss against eldar. Thats why bigger is not always better, the difference between lower and higher ranked players is most often the number of escorts, most competitive builds tend not to rly have battleships and mostly have cruisers and loads of escorts

@Davie I've only lost a single match to DE with my competitive IN build and still think they are incredibly op. Most legend players tailor their builds around fighting eldar because of how overpowering and prevalent they are are in the higher rank brackets.

@brohanbroski you used to be able to crit their decks (or whatever subsystem you prefer) in a acceptable amount of time, which was one reason why their sniper builds were more popular than their brawling builds. with the crit-reduction raised from 0.6 to 0.2, their ships got alot more staying power, which also means that 4.500 range AP brawler builds are much better (it gives more than 50% damage increase against 67 armor, which you need if you brawl with 50 armor). ~90 hull damage per second for three BBs after the DR and 3x2160 burst tordedo damage potential plus good ramming makes them quite strong atm. I don't know how the dauntless spam will work against a post-patch DE brawling build.

@Fosil I've had a few matches vs DE post patch with the daunts and I didn't really notice any difference. I don't really play the daunt build anymore because it's gotten a bit stale so I haven't really had a enough games vs them now to say for certain either way.

I'm confident to say I'm good at this game, and can beat DE. What I can't be arsed with is a 20 minute snooze fest.

In general bringing fewer slower ships is the quickest route to a loss in all but n00b bashing matches.

I agree. Vs a bad DE player you can easilly win if you have a few escorts and don't suicide them. Vs a good one, your skill level doesn't matter 😉

I would also add Tau Carrier players to the list.

I still believe we need a good Force Organisation chart, like the tabletop.

I dislike fighting all eldar myself too.

Detection range is too small in this game. In BFGA1 you could at least upgrade it on every ship.

Talking about frustration have you guys played a DE that refuses to engage you?

They just go around capping points and evading you, depending on map layout there is nothing you can do about it.
If you split up you die, if you don't they outcap you and win. It's 20 minutes chasing them around hoping for mistakes.

@elfyy that's why I think they are the most toxic faction we have, and why I hate playing against them.

any eldar LC can do that
corsairs are the best at it
atleast deldar need to move
they also tend to ping their location regularly by slight speed reductions
stealth deldar are the least bad deldar to fight in my opinion

i feel like there are some fleet builds that just get hard countered by eldar, unless the eldar player makes a big mistake.
But theres also fleets that hard counter eldar, and there are fleets that hard counter those etc. I always think before people endlessly complain about a faction being too OP they should actually play that faction a bit themselves,

The grass always looks greener on the other side

Not sure what you're reading as I can't see people calling them OP. The tone of this conversation is that they are not fun to play against.

what does that mean though? I dont think nova spam is fun to play again, space marines in general arent fun to play against. I dont think tyranids all battle cruiser synapse is no fun to play against lol.

For the record im not a DE main, ive only played like 6-7 matches with them and i dont like them, i do main eldar however and much of this thread talks about eldar in general.
