is it fair to make another necron post?

I know there's tons of them in other places but i'm kinda worried the devs aren't looking at them but rather just win rates which isn't the best way to go about balancing. anyway they seem to not really have a play style for higher leagues that aren't just, light cruisers with silent running capping points then teleporting away. like, they are punished for litterally everything and there is hardly any reasonable way to not get rammed/ boarded/out dps'ed no matter what you do. the only times i win as necrons is when i am up against someone who is new to the game and don't know that they shouldn't just let me spam the transdimentional thunderbolt at them cuz they aren't paying attention.

Necrons are in a decent spot right now actually. The only problem is they have 1 maybe 2 viable fleets.

The primary fleet is to make an LC flagship, 2x cairns and 1 escort. You need mass recall, pyramidal reconstruction, and tesseract crypt. The final ability is your preference. 2 Cairns focus down 1 enemy target at a time with boarding and their moral ability, and then you mass recall out of the fight and regenerate hull before the next engagement. Just rinse and repeat while using the escort and LC to cap and kill enemy escorts.

That doesn't seem very fun if you wanna play 2v2 tho. In fact it kinda just sounds annoying. like, to play as and to play against.

There are 12 factions and designing all 12 to just run at the enemy and fight would be boring if you ask me. Necrons are very unique in this way.

@cowgomoo no improvements then? no in built emergency repairs? no better squadrons? no rally? no better compensation for their insane price? just keep em like they are cuz you can make an annoying teleportation strat work. as if that couldn't be done with any burst damage faction with micro warp jump. they really aren't in a good spot.

I have suggested Pyramidal should be a default flagship skill since back in December. I never said they need no changes at all, but they are not in desperate need of change/buffs as many people seem to think.

no better squadrons?

Their squads are fine. They function as great scouts, help vs small ord numbers, and are good versus killing isolated escorts and ships with few turrets. They are very useful in their current state.

no rally?

Why do they need a rally? Cairns can restore allied moral with their unique ability. I think this gives them more flavor and is better than the copy-paste rally command all other factions have.

The Scythe and Harvester could use some small buffs, but Cairns, LCs, and escorts are all good for their cost.

Mass recall is not the same as MWJ, and no other faction can do this =| I like that Necrons are very unique. Playing as Necrons and against them is very different from any other race.

Tyranids are close to being unique, but often they overlap with other factions. e.g. Jaw nids are basically IN but without torps. Ord spam/boarding nids is similar to SM. Pyro nids is like playing mass Oberons--just capitulate at the start of every match, there is simply no hope.

Balance wise, Necrons are in a decent spot. The biggest problem is they don't have much variety, as I said before.
