Fix for chaos lances

Hi all,

I got an idea for a chaos lances and want to know what you guys think about this idea.

So how about if chaos lances were called something like "optimized lances" or something and they have special trait that makes lances do 50% more dmg to targets that are beyond 9k range.

This way chaos could be The long range faction from first game while effectivily punishing them if they cant keep enemy at long range.

I have not crunched any numbers so feel free to think that the 50% increase is just something i throwed up and it does not have any mathematical base so its more like an example.

Actually i just got apropriate name for these lances they could be "hellforge lances" seems lorevise fine name.

chaos lances don't need a fix

chaos prow lances need a fix and the chaos roster could use a point rebalance (like all other fleets).

If we were playing cruiser clash, Chaos lances would be okay. As it stands we are fighting over static points on the map. This means we need to control said map. Can't control the map if you have to kite the whole time.

Macro fleets can park on points and take them before a lance fleet can hurt them. Lance fleets can't park on a point and take the macro fire.

Hell, even an escort can sit and cap whilst under heavy lance fire and survive.

Except acheron builds are strong af in cap points. The mwj desolator admiral/3 acheron/6 escort capscum build is one of the strongest most miserable builds in the game lmao

How is it strong af and why its exactly that combo that is strong af?

@JorpA Because you're 200 speed and hard to catch and have perfect accuracy 22.5k weapons to pick off escorts and crit chasers. the enemy either chases and loses on caps or tries to do a 3 point hold and is whittled down over time while the escorts constantly contest the points. The high crit rate means your engines are gone extremely quick too.

Im not sure if we are playing same game or not. You can just park any kind of grand cruiser or bigger ship on 3 caps and thats it. You dont have to do anything else against chaos lance fleet. The entire chaos fleet wont have enough damage output to take them down and if that miracle happens and the chaos fleet kills one of your ships replace it with other ship.

Absolutely not. If you AFK a 2000 HP GC with 67 armor on a point it will take 3 Archerons and a Desolator about 3 mins to kill it. Cheapest GC is ~200 points and holding 1 extra cap for 3 mins is only worth 180 points so this is a losing endeavor.

@JorpA And the lances crit your ships into uselessness long before they actually kill them. What bracket are you playing in, is this 1v1 or 2v2?

So nearly 1000pts are able to kill a 200pts executor. That proves what exactly? Because the Executor will have 4 friends with him that will probably don t stay AFK while you kill 1 of them.

forcing somebody to move with your lance fleet is pretty hard, because the other player can cycle between shields. long range lances cannot easily change the attack vector and I think you only have 50% more lance dps compared to the first games meta lance fleets. the shield reload skill has an extremly short cd too.

I'm not crazy about making Chaos only good at long range, that niche is a Tau thing.

That said, yeah, they need something somewhere. They're essentially "worse Imperials" at the moment.

Make lances work with reload. That would help a lot. They don't even have to change the tool tip, cause imo lances are standard weapons, at least for chaos.

Yes, now some will say that with reload lances would be op. But they could revoce the crit increase to normal. Then you have to decide if you want crits (lock on) or dps (reload).
