As a follow up to my previous discussion a month ago. I thought it would be a good idea to showcase the next-gen hardware form the upcoming PS5: https://www.wired.com/story/exclusive-sony-next-gen-console/

Here a few thing you might want to keep in mind:

  • Sony is adding Ray-tracing support (similar to Nvidia's RTX Ray-tracing )

  • SSD is pre-installed on the PS5

  • While the PS5 is supposed to utilize AMD hardware architecture (more specifically speaking, the next gen CPU and GPU), the architecture should be similar to the PS4.

  • Given the nature that the architecture for the PS5 is similar to the PS4, backward comparability support is confirmed.

Remember, the PS5 (and the next Xbox) is currently in develop and everything is subject to change. Keep your tin foil hats on.
