A lot of times i would have gotten that crucial fire support down but the firesupport marker marked the light smoke on my face and not the thing that i was actually looking at.

Nobody actually uses smoke to block off enemy firesupport even thats possible so this is just an annoyance.

Well it's still a mechanic that has it's place in the game. You can plan around the fact. Smoke a whole area off and you are protected from fire support from that direction. Might sound stupid, I get you, but just removing this because it's annoying is maybe not how you should go about balancing things.
