Hey Coaches,
Welcome to a brand new devblog!
We’ve been very busy these last few months to bring you the best possible Blood Bowl 2 – Legendary Edition, available as a stand-alone game for newcomers, and as an expansion for all Blood Bowl 2 players this September on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
The content of the Legendary Edition is based on your feedback and we're happy to continue to unveil more info about each major new features in a series of devblog published in the coming weeks.
Please don't hesitate to ask for more details on the official forum. Let's tackle today the new teams from Blood Bowl 2 Legendary Edition!
AMAZONS
Long ago, driven by a desire for adventure, the Valkyries of the Norse settlement in Lustria sailed away from their menfolk and founded a colony deep within the estuary of the river Amaxon. Now these ferocious warriors have taken to the Blood Bowl pitch – and Nuffle save those who dare to challenge them!
Strength
- Each player has the dodge ability.
Weakness
- Low Armour value.
Watch a video guide about the Amazons.
UNDERWORLD DENIZENS
Underworld teams are an unlikely combination of Skaven and Goblins. These teams are famous for the innovative dirty tricks and dastardly tactics they use in order to try and win, and for the acrimonious and violent arguments that break out in their dugouts when the over ambitious plans back fire (as they almost always invariably do). The most famous Underworld team are the notorious Underworld Creepers.
Strengths
- Cheap units that can mutate.
- Throw the ball carrier with the Warpstone Troll.
Weaknesses
- Low strength and low armor.
- Most players are lacking in skills.
Watch a video guide about the Underworld Denizens.
HALFLINGS
Halfling players are too short to throw or catch, only run at half speed, and let’s admit it, they’ve got little hope of blocking anything! Most Halfling coaches make up for this lack of quality though with sheer quantity.
After all, if you can get half a dozen players in the opposing team’s End Zone, and by some miracle end up with the ball, all it takes is one of the little guys to score that all-important goal.
Strength
- The Treeman’s Throw Team-Mate skill. ‘Nuff said.
Weakness
- Weak, slow, rarely able to pass.
Watch a video guide about the Halflings.
GOBLINS
A Goblin team's game plan owes much more to hope than potential. Goblins make quite good catchers because they are small and agile, but the art of throwing is sadly lost to them.
While the chances of them blocking anything larger than a Halfling are remote to say the least. Still, this never seems to bother Goblin players, and occasionally the use of a particularly devious secret weapon will even allow a Goblin team to win a match.
Strengths
- Masters of violating rules by bringing illegal weapons.
- Trolls can throw their goblin members towards the end zone.
Weaknesses
- Not efficient at anything.
- Chainsaws are dangerous.
Watch a video guide about the Goblins.
OGRES
Ogre teams have existed since the forming of the NAF and have even won the XV Blood Bowl. However, as any right-minded person will tell you, having more than one Ogre in the same place at the same time is a disaster waiting to happen!
Strengths
- Awesome Blockers and efficient Blitzers.
- Some of the most powerful players.
Weaknesses
- Ogres are not bright – The Bone Head Skill will cause them to ignore orders.
- Snotlings are the weakest players of the game.
VAMPIRES
Although this team includes a number of extremely capable players, it is let down by the unreliability of the Vampires themselves. Their insatiable appetite for blood means they’re easily distracted, and before you know it, they’re all heading off into the crowd for a quick bite to eat!
Strengths
- Strong and agile.
- The Hypnotic Gaze skill to lock down opponents.
Weaknesses
- The Vampires need to feed on their own teammates...
- ... Or else they’ll go into the stands and attack the audience.
Watch a video guide about the Vampires.
ELVEN UNION
When the NAF collapsed, many Elven teams were left penniless. Those that survived the financial fallout are not as rich as their High Elf cousins nor as well equipped, but they still sure know how to play!
Strengths
- Cheap Linemen and Throwers.
- High agility like other Elf teams.
Weaknesses
- Low Armour value.
- Slightly slower movement speed than the other Elf teams.
KISLEV CIRCUS
Unreceptive to Blood Bowl for many long years, the great Kislev empire has recently become very keen on this sport. The spark was lit by a rumour about the great Tsarina, who supposedly had an “adventure” with a young blitzer. The popularity of the Ice Queen is such that all young Kislevite males decided to take on the sport in order to seduce her.
Strengths
- Extremely maneuverable thanks to the Leap skill.
- Great Blitzers.
Weaknesses
- Very fragile.
- Difficult to unlock passing skills.
Watch a video guide about Kislev.
ALL-STAR TEAMS
Wreak havoc as the Order, the Chaos, or the Destruction teams – built entirely with Star Players!
These teams are only playable in friendly matches. They're a collection of brutal and freaky teams made for fun only!
- Chaotic All-Stars - 3950TV
- Order All-Stars - 3670TV
- Destruction All-Stars - 3640TV
MIXED TEAMS
The Mixed Team are combinations of standard teams. They allow for fun and crazy tactics - always wanted to have a team of giants? Let's build one exclusively made of ogres, treeman and trolls!
When creating a mixed team, you're allowed to pick players from a set of standard teams. You're bound to the usual positional limitations (not more than 2 wardancers, or 4 amazon blitzers...), but you're allowed to cumulate 2 wardancers AND 2 dark elf witches in the same team!
These teams are flagged as "mixed" and can be banned from any league or competition by commissionners.
