The valley: overall thoughts and suggestions for improvement

@mr-t Sorry to say but these cars are ugly as f***. There are so many interesting machines in the world that we certainly do not need such freaks in the game 😶

@zamal No! You missed the point. I did not write that the cars from the game, those that are based on real counterparts, are ugly. I wrote that the ugly ones are the bizarre remakes, for example UAZ with giant wheels that looks just hilarious!

Actually is sad seeing such stubbornness here when the community of paying customers wants more content
And new trucks is just a minor aspect'
Those cases are extreme upgrades that a stock truck could achieve, and people wanting and using them means people want, not just the wimp version of the stock truck, they want to customize it, to upgrade it.
The feeling of accomplishment is missing from this game. What if by doing stuff in the game, using the rewards to upgrade the trucks and tackle even worse conditions, where only a fully modified vehicle can have a hope of achieving.

ALso having limited time challenges where you can unlock various bonus upgrades or visual customization, trail runs in set time limits or truck trials, where skill of handling the truck matters, and where you take you desired truck and retrofit it with parts from your garage to be able to handle those challenges and at the end of the competition to revert it for "civilian" use or hell, take it for some rescue missions.
Here is a fun example of mud and trucking, where you will recognize some of the trucks.

There is a whole game that this Spintires doesn't tap at all, and is sad that the eople behid it are so narrow minded not to get that niche.
All gamers in the world in all the games and different types want their specific custom thing, demonstrated by the 3rd party mods created by enthusiasts here and by all the games out there, from shooting mechs in battles, tanks, racing cars, shooting fps and strategy.

And those developers that were smart and listened got more and more money.

@mr-t I understand that you have such a taste, everyone has their own. You just have to understand that the creators of spintires never really listened to the suggestions and requests of the players. I think there is some hope that maybe in Mudrunner USA there will be some big American pickups and similar vehicles that are suitable to various modifications and actually looks cool.

@knight25 i mean those people try their best to make these things and u just complain and call their work ugly, its just not nice to say something like that

for example i have 0 desire about pickup trucks, if u ask me they suck, they dont fit the theme of game and overall is such a waste of time and same goes with trail maps and all that stuff, but i dont go around talking shit about those people

i respect their decision and what they trying to get from game, cause im trying to get somethign that i want from this game myself, i cant hate men who try to achieve something they desire

it would be just hypocritical.. learn to behave!

@zamal Relax, man, we have democracy and freedom of speech and I can express my critical opinion. And anyway, it does not matter what I, you or someone else wants to be added to the game. As I wrote, the MR creators do not listen to the opinions of players, so talking and arguing do not make sense at all.

@knight25 there is difference between expressing opinion and calling someones art ugly and if there is no point why even waste ur precious time LOL

I just like to mention, that you guys are already just punching each other, rather than discussing something 🙂

@sodoma Hey, since you're connected with focus, maybe you have some information what will be in the next dlc?

@knight25
I am connected with focus same way as many others here 😂
But if I remember this correctly, @Iyagovos said (on discord maybe?) there will be some official announcement, on this and some other stuff, in the end of this month.
Or at least that is a goal, but you know, things may happen...

Hihi,

Yes, I'm currently working on a community update that I plan to have out at the end of the month 🙂

@mr-t
Sorry, but I can't help myself:

  1. no
  2. no
  3. for a god sake, no!

So far, this game is quite reasonably realistic. This seems to be main goal.
If you have any tension to build things like those, maybe Crossout is game for you...

I agree there is a lot or room for improvement, but putting everything on 50" wheels and painting flames on it mybe isn't way...

Those example might not be perfect but there is some Kraz,Ural and other brand who are heavily modified to suit people needs either for more space in the cab or better handling in snow or even a reworked frame to be able to handle heavy trailer or specific load.
Also there is different modification, the one made by specialist and the one made by the owner of the truck themself wich is sometime is quite interesting in therm of structure design, mecanic and really clever too,so its a bit harsh to just reject them straight.

I have been playing this map over the last few days and thought I should add some feedback to those that may need/want it.

I must say that it is one of my favs accross the board (stock and downloaded maps) in terms of atmosphere and environment realism.

As Zamal has mentioned already the terrain varieties are well implemented and very challenging in sections, which makes The Valley exceptionally fun to complete. There were times where I found myself simply driving around enjoying the environment, trying to find new areas to explore, climb hills to put a fully loaded truck through its paces and generally having fun in the mud. After playing dozens of custom logging maps, I find it rare that a map can provide this variety of expereince, whilst keeping within a realistic theme. When I read somewhere that The Valley was going to be similar to the Flood map, I wasn't filled with confidence but after getting stuck in to it, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the design and overal layout was. The watch tower locations (claoks) are well placed and weren't overkill. They left enough of the map visible to find your way about at the start, which is always good in my books.

One of the best things I find with this map is that 99% of the time you can find your own route, more so than any other map I've played. There's always a cheeky short cut between the trees or a hill to climb to save driving round the long way which tends to keep things interesting as no route needs to be taken twice.

All in all I found The Valley quite refreshing and intereting to drive, if this is the standard of maps we can expect to receive as DLC, I'm really looking forward to the next instalment(s).

My only gripes would be that there could have been another lumber mill as 2 doesn't seem to be enough, for me anyways. Something I didn't notice (if they are there I clearly wasn't looking hard enough lol), but could be a nice addition, would be more random logs scattered about the map that we can find and load up. Going to log loading points and kiosks is fun and all that, but being able to search for random loads knocking about the map would add another dimension to the game play. Maybe even a fallen truck located somewhere on the map that you can rescue and recover the load that had spilled.

So its a big thumbs up from me and thanks to the development team for getting out some new content of this standard.

the dlc is awesome the map is one of the best and I love the new vehicles, but couple of things I would like if the A-969 would have mountable roof and the E-7429 could have more semi trailers like one with repairs and fuel and one with long logs and a crane

@digidi yeah repairs are so necessary on E class both
