PTS Update 19/04/2021 (13.7)

@grimdanfango It's not just the test build. It's things get broken with almost every update on the release version too. And you don't even need to be a programmer to understand this isn't normal. I have a lot of games in my collection, including many early access games that get regular updates. I've never seen this level of incompetence. FYI, I'm in the casino slot business, programming the games for slot machines. If I released crap like that to my QA, let alone the field, I would have been fired long ago.

@Unster
It's odd how I've been playing consistently since release last May, and literally the only bug that has ever affected me in that time has been the cargo-falling-through-trailers issue that got resolved a few months after release. Hell, I've clocked up over 250 hours so far, and I've yet to even experience a physics glitch-out, which is remarkable for literally any game that includes a physics engine. (Trust me on that, I work professionally with computational physics engines, and it's absolutely remarkable how stable Snowrunner is in that regard)

A handful of bugs affect some people, a handful of minor regressions creep through in some patches, and affect some people. This is normal.
Go to literally any forum for any game ever released, you'll find someone else just like you, saying the exact same things about that game... "no other game I own has these problems, the developers are clearly incompetent".
I'm serious... the one thing consistent to literally all games I've ever played is - there will always be someone in the forums making the assertions you're making here.

The game is fine.

@grimdanfango Well either you're not paying full attention, you have a low standard, or you are lucky with your particular setup. I think we both need to understand that different people have different experiences with this game or any game. In any case, attacking people who want the game improved and who offer constructive criticism and bug reports, even if it's sometimes harsh, isn't going to make the game better. Applauding the devs for a crappy job isn't going to make the game better. I do understand that my first post in this thread was more of a grievance than a specific complaint. I will try to refrain from doing that.

@Unster
There's nothing wrong with constructive criticism. That's not what you've been giving lately though. You've just been complaining about perceived incompetence and laziness. There's nothing constructive about that, it's just insulting.

I'm not applauding, the main reason I frequent the forums is to make suggestions for what I personally feel could improve the game, based on what I hope are well reasoned guesses about what might be straightforward to implement, but I always try to be clear that they're guesses, and I can't really know much about the development process, even with some professional experience in related areas.

@grimdanfango You could say my patience ran out at times. For example, that bug introduced in 12.1 release version, where graphics settings no longer saved. To me it's just unacceptable. If it was just this, a one time thing, I'd forgive that. But with this game, it's been one broken thing after another. So you have to understand where I'm coming from, even though yes, not all my feedback has been constructive lately. Still, I do offer it, even lately, in the hopes that Saber will get their act together and put some passion into design & quality.

I don’t mean to barge in on this conversation, but I have to agree with Grim. In my hundreds of hours of play through, I’ve only encountered a few bugs. Most notably, as mentioned by Grim, the cargo bug. There were a few in the beginning, such as the headlight issues, but most were resolved in an acceptable time frame. These developers are far from incompetent and extremely talented. Snowrunner is a masterpiece, and far unique from anything in the marketplace.

I caution against using the PTS as a basis for your argument, because it is a platform for testing new ideas and functionality. I guarantee you that there are things happening behind the scenes with the PTS that never make it to live. You said it yourself Unster, 12.2 is solid.

@secelit3 12.2 isn't exactly solid, but yes it's acceptable and I don't want it broken again. There are still issues, new and old. Old issues such as floating wheels over rocks, that auto downshifting to 1, falling out of crane mode by tapping V, and so on. And there's a new issue (as of 12.1) where I have to refresh my wheel profile every time I start the game otherwise my buttons for gear shifting don't work. But it's a relatively minor nuisance, and by Saber's standards, yes you could say 12.2 is solid. I kind of dread the next version, especially seeing the mess on the PTS.

It is somewhat unique, but in a way it's a combination of Spintires and American/European Truck Simulator. Definitely far from a masterpiece in quality. As a game concept, it's very good indeed, and that's why I'm here and play it. Execution leaves a lot to be desired.

@grimdanfango perfectly written - thank you. @secelit3 you are also correct in your views.

@Unster and this is what I’m talking about, and have been talking about. you’re always quick to say how “no one agrees with me” with no evidence of that... what do you have to say for yourself now? I have also logged many, MANY hundreds of hours on Snowrunner and I can’t honestly say there were any huge technical bugs that affected my gameplay or frustrated me. and then you come out and say things like “we have enough content, I’d rather them focus on fixing all of these issues.”
First of all... ”we have enough content?!” WTH?! what kind of Snowrunner “fan” are you?! you’re on this forum just as much (or more) than the biggest Snowrunner fanatics, all you do is complain, and you don’t even want any more content? Mind-blowing. Personally I hope they continue to release seasons and DLC for years to come.

It’s getting more and more obvious that you are waaaay too judgmental, critical and close-minded about this game and you should just step away from it. and this forum.

@throwbuckley Same tired gripes about me. I think you complain more about me than I complain about the game. We are all entitled to our opinions. Yes, some people agree with you. Some people agree with me. So what. You play this game like a full-time job and you don't perceive many issues, good for you. I play this game a few hours a week, I enjoy the concept, but have seen way too many issues and I'm far from alone. Just browse this forum (not just PTS) and you'll see issue after issue. Give it a rest, and go play something.

@Unster the only one who’s gripes are tired here and who (quite obviously) everyone is sick of hearing about are yours. going as far as to post on PTS threads out of nowhere with “oh man, looks like the functionality still sucks” comments when they’re trying to do something constructive with fixing next Phase. but what do you care? you’ve already said you don’t even think we need more content.
All you have to say about me is assumptions about “how much I play the game.” LOL. great job. you’re lucky this forum doesn’t really have a moderator because you would have been kicked to the curb a long time ago with your incessant moaning. Do the entire community a favor and give it a rest, go complain about something else for a change.

@throwbuckley You said it yourself that you finished the game and that was several weeks ago. You obviously play a lot, but if you see very little or no issues, it also means you're not paying attention. And I didn't say I don't want more content. I just said fix the bugs first. Again, pay attention. And if you're so sick of me, why do you keep replying to me? You have some weird fetish.

@Unster 1) you reply to me just as much as I reply to you, soooo if I have a “weird fetish” than so do you 😂 it’s hilarious when people don’t even know what they themselves are writing.
2) that’s actually exactly what you said. “we’re GOOD on content.” meaning you don’t want new content. otherwise you would have said something different. unless you don’t know how words work...?
3) yes, of course I finished the game. it quite literally came out a year ago. everyone I know that plays the game has finished the game including MOST people on this forum, the SR discord and the SR Reddit! unless someone just started playing it within the last few months or something, I would say the large portion of SR fans have definitely finished the game. so it’s absolutely, positively hilarious to me that you think finishing the game is some big, gigantic task that no one can accomplish unless they are some loser with tons of free time that lives in their mom’s basement. You’re simply hilarious, dude.
4) and yeah, I see very little issues with the game as it currently stands. but @grimdanfango and @secelit3 also agree with that, I guess they aren’t paying attention either? it’s funny though... you’re the only one that ever continuously bitches and moans about how it’s a broken, unplayable mess with a huge amount of technical issues that alllllll need fixing before the devs concentrate on anything else. what’s the more likely scenario here, that the large majority of SR players “aren’t paying attention” or that - maybe, perhaps - YOU are the one that’s being WAY too over-critical and judgmental? 🤔
seems to me that you’re the ‘broken’ one here bud, not the game. now, again, do the entire community a favor and give it a rest, go complain about something else for a change. you’ve heard from multiple people now that you’re wrong and we don’t want to hear it.

@throwbuckley You're inventing your own reality. Yes there are a few fanboys such as yourself who see virtually nothing wrong with the game. You're one of two people I know on this forum (and I've been here a long time) who have finished the game. I definitely haven't seen any evidence that most people here have finished the game.

And nice cherry-picking there. I said "we're good on content for now". You're a fraud living in your mom's basement. Face it.

i didnt finished it (will try to finish in HM), i dont want any additional content before the game will reach Mudtunner level in - engine sounds, offroad physics, proper vehicles feeling (weight, suspension flex and dumping), tailored addons, etc
i would gladly exchange half of vehicles (they are all the same - awd, difflock, tayga tires...) and maps, ALL skins and stickers for mentioned above features.

but if the grandmother had a dick she would be a grandfather..

and its my opinion, so i dont ask everybody to agree with me, and i dont want to have such 99 pages discussion like above, so peace!

@Stazco Preach! The stickers and air fresheners IMO are the most useless feature ever. If only that time was spent on fixing/improving some of the basic functionality, it would be so much more productive. But yeah, it's just an opinion, though pretty widespread from what I've seen here.

@Unster, @throwbuckley,

The forum is a place of cordial exchange, where users share constructive ideas. If your goal is simply to get the last word in, then you'd better get some fresh air and think about your childish behavior.
