Ridge dlc d-538 truck has wrong statistics in its gamefile

Hello,
i just typed this in the steam forum but copy and paste it here

i just found out why the new d-538 is so weak uphill
the maz-535 and the KZKT-538DP have both the D12A-375 engine
the weight of these machine is about the same

but the torque number of the 535 is 220.000
and the 538 has a torque number of 120.000

yes 120.000, less than most of the C trucks just for comparison

c-255 has 140.000 torque
c-4310 has 140.000 torque
c-260 has 160.000 torque
c-4320 140.000 torque
c-65111 has 120.000
c-55115 has 160.000

the d-k700 has 140.000 and a mass/weight of "7000"
the d-538 has 120.000 and a mass/weight of "8800"
the d-535 has 220.000 and a mass/weight of "8000"

i hope this is a typo in the game fils and that it should be 220.000

the kirovet k700 has a YaMZ-238 engine with 230hp
the KZKT-538DP has a D12A-375 with 375hp

but in game the engine of the 538 is weaker than the engine of the k-700

Good find and I'll let the devs chime in, but I wonder if this is really a bug. The D-538 has an all-time diff lock, fitting for a weaker engine. If it had the same power as the D-535, then the D-535 might become kind of useless. It could be a game balancing issue.

Personally I don't find the 538 overly weak. The lower torque in a way gives it better traction by limiting wheel slip, and probably better fuel economy too.

I haven't tried pulling a log trailer up a steep hill with it. I suppose it could be beefed up somewhat, but probably not to the point of the 535. Again you have to consider game balance.

I did the same test that Richard did. You're right, it can't pull a medium log trailer up that slope on Proving Grounds (a rather steep slope). It does pull up a short log trailer though or the medium trailer on less steep slopes. Looking at the xml files, I don't really think it's a bug. It's only a little weaker than the k-700, which is also a 4-star vehicle but more difficult to load logs with. Not saying it's perfectly game-balanced, but probably not a bug.
