Also the bots keep spawning back after you kill them, so the longer you wait the more of them you have to fight off. Combined with super high bot accuracy you can only really rush the objectives and hope to cap it as soon as possible.
How about higher caliber shotguns?
- Remington 887 -> Security
- KS-23 -> Insurgent
@tourist Agree with most points, I think the spawning system should be changed so there are more bots upfront but less reinforcements (like ins2). Right now the system encourages you to rush because if you don't the bots are just going to spawn back in and wreck you; and if you do rush and kill all the bots you can cap the point before the next bot wave gets here, making the game much easier.
With more bots at the same time you won't be able to rush forward without getting really badly surrounded. But once you clear the bots that are occupying the area, you can then cap the point rather safely (a few bots will still spawn but not too many).
This also has other advantages: fire support will be more useful and the killed bots won't respawn. It will also make the helicopters survive longer (given you clear a lot of the bots first) because the bots won't just spawn back every time they get shot and just keep on shooting.
It doesn't blur the screen as much as before. Also you need more bullets shot at you to become suppressed, unlike the last game which only needed 2 7.62 rifle rounds or 3 5.56's landing close to you to reach full suppression.
Nvidia's DLSS antialiasing is basically a method of supersampling images using AI on the new Turing cards. It advertises supersampling 1080p into 4K while looking even better than native 4K with TAA antialiasing.
I was thinking that the devs could potentially use this method to supersample the area inside scopes only, so that everything in the scope can be displayed at 2x the size of everything outside the scope, without losing too much detail. It would be like Insurgency2's low scope quality without the blurring.
With this hypothetical setting, 2x scopes would display exactly like High quality, just supersampled. 4x and 7x scopes would have the area outside the scope displayed as 2x and 3.5x magnification with the area inside getting the same double supersampling to get the 4x and 7x zoom. I think it would look amazing if the devs could pull this off. It would be especially great for native resolutions of 1440p and 4K (esp. if you're trying to push 144Hz) which potentially can't handle High scope quality very well even with those brand new cards. Thoughts?
Yeah I do think it seems 'forced' in some way to bring this mechanic straight from DOI unchanged. Here's a suggestion.
It would be possible for anyone to get a HQ Radio like DOI, but at a cost of 3 supply points if not an observer.
Anyone can get binoculars, and those with binoculars, including Observers and non-observers, can call in the fire support with a commander nearby (if they do not have a radio an Observer needs to be nearby as well). However, the commander nearby must agree with it, where a map with the support locations pops up on their screen and they can quickly respond by holding down the binoculars key for half a second, when a circle with agree and disagree options will appear. If the commander does nothing for 10 seconds or dies before they can give a response (except from TK), the firesupport is also approved automatically.
This means that anyone can effectively be an observer and (limited) commander at the same time. Bad observers and commanders are no problem. You could argue that it makes it easier to grief - wasting firesupport or disapproving every firesupport suggestion as a commander - but right now anyone can become a commander and you can already grief just as badly if you wanted to anyway, so it can't make the problem worse.
Also, the mechanic is simple and easy to learn:
- If you have binoculars, you can call in firesupport if you get a radio somewhere. Anyone can get binos and commanders come with them.
- If you have HQ radio, anyone including yourself can use it to call in fire support. Anyone but commanders can get HQ radios, and observers come with them.
- If you are not a commander, you must get approval from a commander to call in fire support. The default response is an approval.
(To tone this down a little bit, simply make it so binoculars and HQ radios are both in the same section, so you can't carry both.)
Set texture streaming to low? Also check for throttling, this patch decreases load on CPU so GPU load may be higher now if you were previously bottlenecked.
turn your location HUD on in settings (at least open the map)
Yeah, 180degree turning bots still aren't fixed and are almost as bad as the grenade launcher bots in beta1 now
Regarding this change:
- Moved all bullet impact particles to be processed by the GPU instead of the CPU.
I know that it will probably optimize CPU performance by quite a bit, but something obligatory for all changes of this sort: Can we have this as an option? People with lower end graphics cards compared to their CPU - such as those running ryzen iGPUs - will probably prefer it to stay on the CPU workload.
