As far as Xbox One is concerned it won't get bricked over an app or game. You would have to tamper with the firmware or OS to brick it.
Also you can push and hold the power button like a PC and hard reboot it if need be.
I can't talk on how PS4 handles it because I don't deal with them but if a game crashes on an Xbox it won't brick it.
I emailed Focus home back when the game launched and I was told from Focus Home support that mods on console is being looked at, but don't expect it for the first 6 months. I really hope they release mods since they did for other games. If they don't open mods up there is literally no reason to play it on console anymore and i'll be pretty aggravated I paid $30 for a game that I got 4-5 hours of time in.
I've actually been working on a snow/regular map.
It will have 2 different areas in one map.
Snow has been a pain to get going properly. Trying to blend snow and grass is coming along but difficult. Getting rocks and stuff to be properly snow covered and have proper traction is difficult but coming along.
Biggest thing is the engine tends to wash the snow out a little much. The skylight is extremely bright on the textures. So trying to get that looking more realistic is taking some time.
I started the map back in ST but converting was a pain so I just started over again.
Hopefully they come out sooner then 6 months.
Mods are what has kept Spintires the game it's self alive.
Without mods the game would be completely dead in the water.
I want to create more mods and maps, but i'm not buying the game until mods come to console.
