it still makes every match unique and makes sure that people can't come up with memorized, optimized attack plans.
3 predetermined locations will make people remember optimized attack plans that works far better than what they'd have to do in my proposed solution. Because you can't defend your truck with this randomization. It makes it so easy to blow up the truck. And the commander can still cheese in artillery.
My solution is far better as it allows the teams to set up effective defences around the cache. It will always force the opposite side to adapt their strategy on the fly if an effective defence was organized. That will make those matches truly unique.
@amurka Wow, I'm not pointing fingers relax. I do agree with your grief about the fuel trucks. I just disagree with your solutions.
As I said, I think the fuel truck should be replaced by a bunker with a weapon cache close to team's spawns. This removes the nonsense of randomize locations, even with predetermined locations it will always give a team some unfair advantages. And those bunkers would be hard to assault, protected against artillery and requires strategy and skills to take down rather than dumb luck.
That doesn't seem very feasible.
What I mean by that is that it would be always some very obvious locations, as putting that truck randomly would always give one team a bigger advantage than the other.
Even with trying to find it. I think that the truck should be change by an ammo cache and hidden inside a building with no window. Place that building very close to the teams spawns and it becomes a very hard objective to blow up. Forcing players to come up with actual strategies to take them down.
Even with the last two suggestions, it's still too easy to blow up the fuel trucks. And the trucks seekers would be armed with rockets. I personally think fuel trucks are just too obvious and the map designs makes them too vulnerable, thus my suggestion.
NWI, you deserve the respect of your entire fandom and players around the world. I also really believed that releasing on the 18th would only be half the true experience reaching your player base. I think this will translate to a much better reception at launch. I believe you on this new release date and wish you courage and luck!
You have my full support (including monetary since I won't ask for a refund). Cheers!
@mr-grim And yes, if you want real world stuff, knifes have been used in situations where a firefight is happening or could happen. They will also continued to be used far after guns disappeared. Why the hell do you think every soldiers gets a knife and training to use it. It's useful as f... in the right situations.
says the guy that forgets this game is not real life...
@mr-grim hum, don't you know that bullet armour do not stop knifes? And being right at the back of an ennemy, why not just slit his throat? Yeah, do try to continue fighting with half a neck left...
And it being "realistic" is not relevant as a game needs to be fun! and ffs, as a developer, why would you spend time and effort making a useless weapon?
@amurka This is quite harsh to say from someone that probably doesn't know how the game was coded. Since I don't either, I can't say where the problem is from. But knowing enough in coding and game development I can say this is not that they "tied" what's on the screen to the sound. Quick example, you can hear people shooting even when they're not on your screen.
And David is right to say this is a very minor slipping. A forgettable bug almost. Once they get around to it, the fix should probably take only one hour max to develop.
In conclusion, it's only hard to explain if you don't understand what you're talking about. I can't go teach at university when I only finished college kinda thing there. And you can't expect a finished product in a beta, even if some greedy companies like EA does this as PR stunts to maximize sales at the expense of costumers.
@amurka It's a beta : "All features are subjected to change and might not work as intended or not work at all!"
So that's irrelevant.
What's truly irrelevant is not having a 1 shot kill back stab. The knife is already pretty much irrelevant and a 1 shot back stab would be the only situation I'd see it being used. And that would be so rare already!
Since it doesn't one shot anybody, why would you ever use it? That would be an item completely useless everyone has by default, the devs had to code it, solve bugs about it... And everyone would not even know it's there, because the only situation it could be used in won't work unless it can 1 shot back stab!
I'm all for being 1 shot stabbed in the back. If not, just remove the knife from the game.
