@notzerg I don't spam large ships as the opposite is often more rewarding. Hence why the devs in the last two patches have been buffing larger ships and reducing how effective LCs and escorts are.

Total War: Warhammer 2 went from 70k to 18k within 3 months.

It's had some very bad months, and is holding steady at 25k. That's a loss of around 2/3rds of the original players.

BFG2 has dropped from 9k to just under 4k. Which is around ½ the player base. TWW2 dipped below 19k within 3 months from that original 70k.

Good balance passes, and added features will keep this game alive. Replays and spectator mode are a must for this. These will allow us to run our own tournaments and stream them, giving the game exposure on Twtich/YouTube. That will show the game is alive, and encourage people in and back.

To add, I play iRacing (10 years old) which is a hard core PvP only racing simulator. We often have between 800 and 2,000 players online at any one time. That game is still growing and going strong.

If we were playing cruiser clash, Chaos lances would be okay. As it stands we are fighting over static points on the map. This means we need to control said map. Can't control the map if you have to kite the whole time.

Macro fleets can park on points and take them before a lance fleet can hurt them. Lance fleets can't park on a point and take the macro fire.

Hell, even an escort can sit and cap whilst under heavy lance fire and survive.

I'm stating the hard stats of lances, and if this makes Chaos lances look bad...

So let's double Chaos lances' damage and critical hit chance. AdMech are now only 50% ahead in damage and 125% better at scoring critical hits...

Dropped 2 grav gun shots within a few seconds of each other, then MWJ'd Arc into space elf's face, dropped big AdMech AOE, then fired off a boarding action. Game died.

AdMech lance does 18 damage every 12 seconds (1.5 DPS) with a base critical chance of 9% (18% in lock on)

Chaos lance does 4 damage every 8 seconds (0.5 DPS) with a base critical chance of 2% (4% in lock on).

What's people's thoughts on the facts the Admech do 300% more damage and have a 450% higher critical chance than Chaos with their lances?

Not a nightmare, just another option to help manage what your fleet is doing.

If a target is set/left to random, your ship targets what it has set as preference.

However if you've set a priority on the actual enemy ship this overrides your ships priority:

  • If the target has engines selected, but your ship has deck, you target the engines
  • If the target has random selected, but your ship has deck, you target the deck
  • if the target has engines selected, but your ship has random, you target the engines
  • if both have random, it's random
