I must say that toxic players I can handle. WHat is my head concern is the fact that we cant kick and we cant vote for maps and all the random new teammates. I had a great game today with pretty cool players who also used the mic. Long nice game.... next game is totally silent and full of players not even remotely interested in playing the objective. And so I exit agian because the fun is interrupted by matchmaking system. And browsing servers aint a thing yet as all have insanely high ping. I do enjoy comp gaming, but I like to also just play casually but with the intention of teamplay and focusing on objective. I have 1400+ hours in source and 460 in Sandstorm, so as an experienced fps gamer, those are my beefs
So, Ive been playing a lot, and I really just aint having fun as I used to. All the automated stuff.... matchmaking, no votekick for toxic players, players dont play objective and if you mention it you are an idiot and a nigger and a faggot and what not.
Clearly this has become a game for the masses. I cant play more than 1 game before I get frustrated and start browsing for better games. Game still have a lot of issues, which I can live with as I know they get corrected in time. All in all, Im just not having fun anymore. And from the groups Im in, I can say that Im far from the only one. I feel like Ins source is for hardcore gamers, and Sandstorm is for kids and other mainstream gamers browsing between 4 different games and never get into just one and get good at it. Think its a shame it came to this.
So, couldnt find post about the subject, but will there not be any map voting in Sandstorm? Only map rotation with random players? I find my self exiting the game after max 2 games. First game is usually almost done when you join, second is a new game if lucky and third sucks because the teammates you just had fun with and voice chatted with are now on other servers. Its so random and it sucks big time. Along with the no kick system. Its a really good game but I feel its going too commercial and weak. Bad choices imo.
And to top it off, I just downloaded th 11.5GB update only to crash within 2min of every game...
@planetcanada Yeah I know and I did. It was in relation the optimisation of the game through driver. But thanks
So, NWI made some colab with british nvidia to optimize game. Which it apparently didnt do for all. So the purpose of this post is to let devs know that its not optimal and its unplayable as it is with appr.25fps.
If youre having more doubts about this post, feel free to get answers to your questions.
This morning my fps went from 55-60 down to 20-25. My ping and download rate are the same. All my settings are now on low and it makes no difference. Makes the game unplayable. Im on i7 4710, gtx980M and 16Gbram. It might have happened after I istalled the new graphics driver from nvidia.
Yeah, pretty much same response you gave bigfry I see.
But teamkillers arent the real issue here. Its the afk´s and the toxic people. And I´d rather experience abuse once in a while than wasting my time on afk´s and assholes. And as he said, ground branch cant be compared. And the missing map vote system?? Its really downhill...
Its some of the things I loved from Ins2 2014. All this time I have been looking forward to votekick and map voting. Im not sure what to think of it to be honest. But I dont like it.
With that said, rest of the game rocks! Big fan..
Havent given feedback for some time. Just really enjoyed playing the game
BUT: This game needs a tutorial and votekick/ ban.
I just heard that theres is NOT going to be a vote kick system. If that is true, then I am definitely finding a new game to play. With a full time job and being a dad I dont have time to waste on Afk´s and toxic people etc.
And it takes new players way too long to get the game and know the modes. Really hope both will get added.
Great game otherwise!!
This applies for many: Play your role and play the objective... then there is xp. Kills, camping and ego play leaves you with what is deserved when not beeing a teamplayer. Not saying its you, but I always play objective and I have no problem with XP. Objectives and the amount of time played is boosters! Like firefight for example.... many thinks its deathmatch... running around or camping or just killing, when its all about capturing and respawning your team. But most dont get it.... sadly.
I might be installing Linux in the weekend. How does Ins2 and Sandstorm run in Linux? Any advice is appreciated.
In have i7 4710HQ @2.5GHz and 16GB RAM.
