If you recently installed a new driver and are now experiencing the FPS drops, then it's probably the driver. One thing to bare in mind, new drivers doesn't automatically mean the're the best. I'd recommend reverting back to the old one and testing it again.
Your system is lacking massively on the RAM. Most users have 8GBs and even they sometimes experience performance problems. However, I think your CPU and GPU are very low end as well. Unfortunately, I don't think there is much we or you can do unless you upgrade your components. I'm sorry.
You can sort between the threads by selecting the hub you want to browse through the Category tab. You can all mark all unread / read for each hub on the other button. If you don't want to get notifications for the other hubs, you'll need to go to the said hub and untick the "Watching" button. That'll prevent further notifications from those hubs.
@xqube yeah its annoying that A: there is no server browser so you can't just join the full server. B: that there is generally nobody on anymore.
There used to be all lot more players than this they have moved on and waited for bugs to be fixed is my guess. A month with no update didn't help IMO...
I'm happy that they are spending time making the game rather than marketing.
Server browsers are coming at the end of the month.
Well here's how I see. If the developers don't add females, people will be upset. If the developers do add females, people will be upset. I personally feel it's impossible too please everybody. Now as a gamer, does it bother me if there is / isn't females in game? No, it doesn't bother me. It doesn't affect me or my opinion on if the game is fun or not. The game hasn't professed to be a "historically correct" or "100% realistic". So in my opinion, I feel the developers should have free rein on the choices they take.
Check to make sure you're signed to your friends. As in, make sure your Steam Profile appears in "Online" mode.
They're aware of the optimization. However, updates will be a ways out.
Patches are going to be quite a ways out my friend. I wouldn't expect any optimization update to drop anytime soon.
There's lots that are in the same boat as you. It's a known issue at the moment. No ETA on when it'll be fixed.
I don't foresee the most positive results coming out of this thread. People calling others salty is only going to promote nonconstructive behavior. Therefore, I'm going to close this.
@thehappybub Hmm, nothing seems out of place with the settings. How much VRAM does your card hold? Is it 4GB? I notice you have your Texture Streaming Pool Size set to 3GB, it may be a rabbit trail but you could try opening it up to 4GB (assuming it's a 4GB card). I would still highly recommend reinstalling the driver. However, I myself encounter the textures not loading sometimes but they load in after 1-2 seconds. On top of it all, my rig is a power house. Which tells me it could simply be the game. That said, I wouldn't worry too much. It's a little frustrating but it'll most likely be patched in the near future.
As mentioned, the original Insurgency (2014) is referred to as Insurgency 2. Sandstorm is literately just referred to as Insurgency Sandstorm. Secondly, let's try to keep our views and opinions civil. No need to insult others for their own opinion.
This is how most of Steam's games work. You add them through their social profile and can invite them on any game. Steam's done the work for developers and they can easily implement Steam's system while avoiding having to develop their own party system. I really don't see the issue considering you can search a friend and add them within less than 30 seconds. I don't think we'll be seeing this feature taken out of Sandstorm anytime soon.
Texture problems are actually related to your GPU, as mentioned. I've experienced some of the issues you're explaining but it could be the beta, could be a faulty GPU driver, GPU isn't significant to run the game, or other things. I'd recommend updating your GPU driver and/or roll back to an older driver. Secondly, a screenshot of your in-game graphic settings would be helpful. Lastly, can you list your GPU model?
Yeah, if your PC forced shutdown on you, then it's not the game's fault. Your PC is overheating and thus Windows is essentially saying, "Hey! It's getting really hot in here, force shutdown so we don't burn the components". I'd recommend cleaning your machine out with a compressed can of air. I bet there's a lot of dust in the rig.
