I can vouch for this tweak! Its supurb and not only is the best AA settings but also increases performance for me and lowers the fixed LOD values.
Great job guy!! People NEED to test this, especially if you used to use a MSAA setting tye engine.ini before (which now does not work)
Odd, my sights are fine.
I do use a 1440p monitor though.
Maybe you can play around with the values?
Either way it produces way sharper AA results than the ingame settings without raping gpu usage like SuperSampling does
goto this address in explorer
open engine.ini with a text editor
delete all existing and place this
save the file and right click it and click properties and tick the box that says READ ONLY and hit OK
the MSAA can be set to 2,4 or 8 but 2 is best without raping the GPU
Post AA you can mess around with but these settings are great for me.
Gamma default is 2 and 3 is quite bright
As there is no ETA on anything right now.
Why are you guys so silent?
Major Hickups with UE4.2?
Last blog post that i can find was the announcement of the delay which was ages ago
@lt_delay I have used every new Nvidia driver (installed after using DDU) since then the same thing happens, lets hope the vram issue is fixed when they bring out the next patch (with hopefully UE4 4.2)
i can agree with you on this!! its horrible!
with textures and any setting with mesh set to highest and setting the Texture streaming pool size to as high as my 8gb card can handle and still, the buidlings when zooing in with a 4 or 7x scope (that are not that far away) look like fat chunky blocks like a crazy crooked house at a funfair lol
just like what happened in pubg on xbox release here:
couldnt find anything from sandstorm as im not at home to screenshot
try changing the GAMMA in the engine.ini file
i have found that putting gamma to 2 (which is default) or 3 if you want it brighter, does not allow the gamma to change during gameplay!
i also set my supersampling and postprocess AA in the engine.ini file which produces way way better results than the in game settings and it sticks!
i am not at home now but ill add to this post at peoples request when i get in!
the game is stable and sharp as fcuk without flickering now for me and im always over 100fps on 1440p with 6700k and gtx 1080
Maybe the flipable version could be 1 point more?
Would be awesome! Im constantly switching between 1x and 2x in game.
Pain in the ass when u can see the unflippable, flippable magnifier in from of you lol
You are right! This suppression effect looks like turd! Ir makes all tge edges go thick black and happens especially when smoke or nades go off.
As for lowing your VRAM the best way is to lower your Texture quality. (And possibly resolution or FOV)
But the point of this thread is that max textures in a game like this should NOT be using soo much Vram.
As the maps are not that large and the textures are not that great.
BFV and battle royale games that have higher quality textures and much larger maps are not using anyway near the amount of Vram this game uses.
@fattmedic totally right i thought as much before i tried it and like a sheep i tried it.
Made no difference at all, my cpu load minimum anyway (6700k @4.5ghz)
Maybe this may help people with cheap or very old cpu's?
The gpu usage amd crazy over the top Vram usage is and always has been the issue with indy developed unreal engine 4 games.
Its the same story every time and every game, the indy devs take on too much when using UE4, i really dont see the fascination on using UE4 as sooo many devs are using it in last 2 years and nearly ALL of them are having problems.
Devs need to do their homework and avoid UE4 in the future
I understand ur point but its still a pain the ass lol
Ill give it a shot though
is there no way to disable the use of HT in game? as i dont really want to disable it system wide as soo many other games need it
this is because any ALL quality setting will write a new .ini file, clearing out all settings in that file
dude! same thing happens to me! on VLC but it happens when i hit the push to talk butoon (which is mapped to CTRL) lol
some how the voip for me is acting as a media play/pause button in VLC
@slazenger ive noticed this also, it looks like the cope is on the wrong way around lol
maybe it is guys that are using high scope detail and we as the spectator are using low detail?
it was same for me today but it logs in after a few attempts
yeah i have tried all the different sizes,
even with the lowest one 400mb im still over 7gb vram
