We have the logs for this occurring to multiple people. When I use my rcon tool, it opens the console log and it was packed with missing assets. I can bet that DGL had a similar issue to produce the floating vests and weapons. It is occurring on all of our servers...

Here is an example from our Coop server. Hope it helps!

@mikee said in Insurgency: Sandstorm Community Update - A Shift in Direction:

The planned game modes for release are as follows: Push, Firefight, and Capture the Base for Versus, plus Checkpoint, Operation, and Outpost for Coop. Push and Firefight are very similar to as they were in Insurgency. Both of these modes will not have drivable vehicles, as we hope to preserve the gameplay of our legacy game modes. Capture the Base however is a more open map mode, one which is built from the start with drivable vehicles in mind. It’s got a bit more of a “Capture the Flag” feel to it (though with very different goals and conditions) and so far has been a lot of fun to play internally. Firefight will also feature a separate 5v5 competitive ruleset with its own matchmaking and ranking system. Checkpoint and Outpost are similar to Insurgency as well (Outpost has seen some tweaks) but Operation will offer a new kind of experience. We’ll be sharing more about that in due time.

Adding game modes post-release is something we are considering. However it is important to us that we do not fragment or separate our player base with too many modes, and that each of our modes offers a very fun and distinct experience. Game mode excess is something we were a bit guilty of in Insurgency and Day of Infamy.

I am no dev, so also awaiting an accurate answer... However, in the past while I modded Insurgency (2014) we were able to configure most server variables and settings through the server files (ie. Server.cfg, Gamemode.cfg, Gamemode.theater) and that enabled insane Coop servers and the PVP Competitive scenes that spread around the world. With my experience also modding the UE4 game ARK: Survival Evolved, I expect that we will again have a wide range of features to tweak. This might not be available in Alpha or Beta, etc. but I do expect it upon full release or release of open dedicated hosting. Hope this helps, but it's probably what you already presumed as well.
Keen for a dev response!

@jambo said in Mod Support?:

UE4 powered games like Squad and Ark also have workshop support so there's no real reason not to have it.

Agreed and in addition, these games not only have Steam Workshop support, but the game files are available in packages for the modders, inside Unreal Engine 4. This means you can work on the game inside the same engine, not just the external tools people use, opening up even more doors than normal. I expect A LOT of mods, but I expect this very late and not during Alpha, Beta or maybe even any Early Access.

However, modders like myself, should be focused on improving the game in this early stage and bringing your modding ideas to the devs (where applicable) for the chance of it being added to the game. After the priority is addressed (getting it working and stable) we can focus on more adventurous things. For obviously 'out of place' things (that wont ever be added to the game), you should be able to go nuts when the game is stable and released.

Dr. Ace Misanthrope, Head of Pacific Gaming League and host of Oceanic and International Insurgency seasons and events. Over 1700+ hours in game, although I haven't played in 2 years (imagine what it could have been up to).

I have been focused on other things, although I have been clinging to the hope that Sandstorm will be everything the community hopes it will be. As always though, it won't be a success without the developers and the community working together, collecting feedback and making improvements, so I wanted to get involved and offer my support. Good luck, have fun and happy gaming!
