I have experienced this as well. There's no error code or anything. Tried restarting the game & my computer to no avail. There was a windows update yesterday; perhaps this is connected? The game crashes back to menu seconds after loading any campaign save.
Seems to have just started today. I've attached my dxdiag results.
@nemesor-xanxas I was going to wait, but I ran out of other single-player things to do, and I don't do multi-player. Already beat the Imperium campaign on hard, and had just finished the Nid campaign on easy, and didn't want to start another Nid campaign right afterwards (nowhere near as invested in their faction as I am in the other two, though I did end up finding them far more enjoyable than I would've thought, and really enjoyed them once I unlocked their battleships). So new Necron campaign on hard it is! Hopefully as long as I take it slow-ish, I won't miss out on the new ships.
& to add on to @skalgrim-fellaxe 's questions: will we get a preview for the new Necron ships, or will they be a surprise when the patch comes out?
I'm actually happy either way, just curious as to the behind-the-scenes design choices y'all make... and because it'll help me decide how much I want to progress in my current hard mode Necron campaign playthrough
Thanks! That's pretty much what I was afraid of, but it's still good to have confirmation. Hope they change it back soon!
I'm far enough along and not having too much trouble. I guess I'll just try to power through. I play the campaign with pure battleship fleets and no urgency meter, so it's not all that bad once they're all leveled up. Not looking forward to clearing that last Chaos sector while being effectively being down a fleet though...
I'm playing the Imperium campaign on Hard difficulty. When I played it on Normal, the Macragge's Honor was roughly 600 points. Now it's about 1100 points (the fleet it spawned with was 1200 points, which included the 2 escort frigates which were 47 points each). This makes it pretty much unusable, since that leaves me with only enough for 1-2 ships even in the endgame.
Is this a bug? A points cost change with the patch? A difference in point costs between normal mode and hard mode? Anyone who's played both difficulties and can shed some light on this would be much appreciated.
Question for the folks who've gotten far enough in Imperium hard mode playthroughs: Is Macaggre's Honor more expensive point-wise in hard mode? Or was that a patch change? In my normal playthrough, it was around 600 points. I acquired it last night, post patch, & it was around 1100 points.
Was the change in point values to Macaggre's Honor in the Imperium campaign intentional? I didn't see it in the patch notes. It was around 600 but now appears to be about 1100. Seems significantly overvalued if so, given that it really only has the firepower of 2 battleships.
