At the moment stealth isnt really the issue, it can be countered, its the abilities that make stealth so powerful, vortex from Eldar/DE and torps, MWJ for instant shot etc. if a faction has total stealth on all its ships then it should not have an ability that stops you from catching them, which is bloody difficult against a good player or an ability that stops you from moving at all (which vortex does against orks, tau and other very slow fleets).
Remove these abilities or make them one use only.
this could lead to tailoring and finding the best ships for the enemy you face, this would cut down on variety and stop a "take all comers fleet" and the end result would be either a curb stomp for new players who dont know the meta, or cookie cutter fleets.
One type of each ship won’t work with certain fleets, but like how they have done escorts (1 cruiser gets you 4 IIRC) should be the same for other ships.
So cruisers should be the mainstay of a fleet, I would like something like this
If you take a cruiser it unlocks battleships and battle cruisers, so no dual battleship fleets, this represents there rarity.
Alternatively you can restrict ships based on the points of the game, akin to how TT does it.
600pts: light cruisers, escorts, 0-2 cruisers 0-1 battlecruisers.
And up it’s from there, however they address spam it does need addressing.
Oddly the collector from marvel is more akin to a star god than tranzyn
Some good suggestions but I am solidly against seeing your opponents faction prior to a game, that encourages tailoring and getting the best fleet to beat that person rather than a take all comers list, it also adds a further disincentive to newer players who do not know the game well enough yet to tailor against specific races, leading to them being stomped and crying X faction is OP.
