thats never gonna happen with a 320 speed stealthed light carrier that can bring 9 hangar bays between all 3 ships...

the ark mechanicus was a non standard ship for the mechanicus... it would be sensible for more variants to exist for said ship... a lanceboat a macro and a carrier variant would be a good idea for admech...

the total cost of ships with gravitic hooks seems to be not worth it as of the current meta
right now having mostly line ships with a few escorts are favored
Emissary sacea + 2x warden = 186 points + 2 extra ion cannons
Emissary borkan = 192
the only real advantage of the latter is bringing extra escorts without increasing the cap, but it does that job cost inefficiently so its usefulness as of today`s meta isnt really that high.

proposal, price reductions for the regular custodian to 460-470 points and the emissary borkan to 160-170 points

also if possible a cheaper non gravitic hook version of the custodian possibly with more ion cannons would be nice... (400-420 point range)

the drukhari light carrier with 3x strike craft per ship is extremely OP... 2 volleys to take down a space marine battlebarge with little counterplay option... should get a reduction in hangar quantity ==> 2 hangars per ship + reduction in the potency of all boarding strike craft

a similar nerf should occur to tyrannid and space marine boarding strike craft and boarding damage

carrier fleets honestly arent that strong though... ever played tau merchant? pretty easy to cheese with smurfs or ramspam + spur

there is an exception of course to tyrannid and drukhari carriers which are OP

the 2x crit of the zap + the 50% shield penetration on lockon has made ork zap builds cancerous in the beta...

basically a faction with 57% winrate just got buffed significantly... and there is barely any counterplay now as engines die relatively fast to zap spam

the custodian is a good ship... but gravitic hook is very very limiting to the choices of ships i can field as it automatically brings wardens instead of escorts of my choosing... and overall the strength of the custodian doesnt make up for the inefficiency of gravitic hook...

after all the custodian is not comparable to 2x protectors + 3 wardens...further aggravating the situation... the best course of action is to create a version of the custodian that didnt bring the wardens...

still one has to admit chaos shouldnt get more DPS than IN cruisers at medium range... it would be better off if they simply buffed chaos lances and nerfed chaos macros....

the custodian apocalypse retribution emperor oberon despoiler desolator ark mechanicus and battlebarge are all underperforming battleships tbh... the custodian and the battlebarge are probably the saddest of the bunch lol being 500+ pts yet woefully outmatched by the cheaper cairn

only the eldar battleships (voidstalker obsidian rose) ork battleships (deadnot) necron battleships (cairn) and tau merchant battleships (galeath vashya) are good for their price...

tau auxilla BBs are good too though... demiurg stronghold and the deathsphere (kroot)

some factions have great capital ships while others do not.... eldar necrons orks and tau merch have great capital ships... imperial navy adeptus mechanicus space marines tau protector and chaos do not...

mind you there are of course non capital ship units that are overperforming... the carnage comes into mind... but otherwise its pretty straightforward...

sure you removed lockon and halved the speed reduction of darkmatter but that doesnt address the issue of kin crew + reload.... and now youve buffed the dark eldar by giving 0.2 crit on eldar BBs...

well for starters... most cruisers have greater DPS efficiency than battleships while having slightly less hull efficiency... this means that big fat slow battleships will be outshot by equal points of smaller more nimble ships in a straight shootout...

EG protector vs custodian
2x protectors not only have twice the crit as one custodian... they also have more ordinance more hp and more shields than the 391 pt custodian (502-37*3)

this should not be the case for any battleship...after all the high cost singular field presence and low speed of the battleship is supposed to be the balancing factor against supposedly higher hull efficiency and DPS efficiency... as of the current meta bringing 2 cruisers out is generally preferrable to a single battleship as that BB is most likely going to get outgunned anyways

soo i recommend increasing the DPS output and HP of all underpowered BBs

i also disagree with buffing BB mobility as buffing BB mobility ends up in simple dumb battleship spams over combined arms... buffing BB DPS and HP means smaller ships still retain a purpose in that they are needed to cap and shoot at ships attempting to flank the BB... hence preventing BB spam by creating different roles for each ship...

BB = heavy ship that shoots
CA = ship that moves around flanking BBs and preventing enemy flankers from flanking your BBs...
CL = anti escort
escort = scout and capper

Making the cd shared will render the grav cannon near useless with just 1 shot available... keep the cd separate or give the grav cannon more ammo
