Hello all!

It's time for another one of those regular Community Updates!

This time around, we're actually going to start off talking about something a little more immediate, and making an announcement!

We're happy to announce The Ridge, the second free DLC for Spintires: MudRunner, coming soon to PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

In The Ridge DLC, we'll be introducing a brand new map, two new vehicles, and, for the first time, a brand-new gameplay mode.

On The Ridge, you will find a towering mountain ridge that divides the map into two areas, and that is incredibly difficult to cross. This will be made trickier with the introduction of the two new vehicles, the D-538 and the B-6A. We will have more details on these vehicles in the future in individual vehicle profiles, but both vehicles will also introduce new add-ons to the game as well!

These new add-ons will help players tackle the difficult new game mode being introduced to The Ridge, Scavenge.

Scavenge mode, unique to The Ridge, is a mode where there are no log stations. This means that you won't be able to just collect logs and transport them. Instead, there are now random "scavenge locations". These locations are two or three locations that are randomly selected each time you start the map, and spawn static logs which must be collected with a crane!

We don't currently have a specific planned release date for The Ridge, but it should arrive around the end of May. We will continue to add screenshots to this post as we have them to share with you. As stated above, this will be for PC, PS4 and Xbox One!

As has become the norm for these community updates, I'll also let you know what the team are currently working on, and what to expect in the future.

We continue to work on MudRunner USA, and will have more information on this in the future, but we are currently looking into our options towards licensed vehicles for this.

We are hugely grateful to the dedicated and passionate modding community for helping us make Spintires: MudRunner the best game it can be, but, for now, we're only exploring what options we have, no concrete plans to implement mods on consoles in the short run.

Lastly, the Nintendo Switch version of Spintires: MudRunner is still in development, but we don't have much more to say about this currently.

Thank you, all, and we'll talk to you soon!

Spintires: MudRunner is the ultimate off-road experience, taking players on hostile roads and harsh environments. Available on PC and consoles, Spintires: MudRunner is releasing the free Ridge DLC on the 29th of May, a free content update that includes a new map, new vehicles, and new add-ons to explore and experiment with. The Ridge is a coastal map split in half by a mountain ridge. Players will need to take a lot of care if they’re looking to cut time by travelling across the center.

0_1526550888579_logo_MudRunner_TheRidge-01.jpg

In addition to a brand new map, two new vehicles are being introduced, the D-538, a heavy duty tractor, and the B-6A, a lightweight tractor. These two vehicles can be used on any map, provided you have enough progression points unlocked. Completing The Ridge requires players to utilize a new type of delivery gameplay called Scavenging. Logs are now scattered across the map, and players will have to find them at various locations in the wild to complete deliveries and earn unlock points.

Spintires: MudRunner offers incredible content and unique experiences - it's a genre of its own, reinventing the rules and offering new challenges for players looking for emergent encounters and true-to-life off-roading situations. Dedicated players and driving enthusiasts will appreciate the hyper-realistic driving sensations thanks to an advanced physics engine, a differential transmission system, soft-tire simulation, as well as realistic interactions between vegetation, mud, water, and your vehicle.

Spintires: MudRunner’s next free content DLC, The Ridge, is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam on May 29th.

Hi all, I'm happy to be able to share with you a post written by New World Interactive on what to expect for future updates, and what the team are currently working on.

Hi everyone my name is Jon Higgins, and I am the Marketing and Communications Director here at New World Interactive. It’s been a little while since we last spoke about the development state of Insurgency: Sandstorm, and we’d like to take this opportunity to update our fans on what our team have been working on.

With the PC launch moving to December 12th, our team took a fresh look at the feedback you had provided during the course of the Beta and evaluated what our top priorities should be given the additional development and testing time. This includes optimisation, improving the quality of character models and animations, refining gameplay, fixing experience and immersion breaking bugs, along with giving the game a stronger degree of polish in general. The new date will also provide us additional time to test and implement our planned community features such as third party dedicated server support and the ability for players to launch custom configured games using our server infrastructure.

You may have noticed that updates are not happening as frequently as they were before. This is partly due to our decision to upgrade from Unreal Engine 4.19 to Unreal Engine 4.20 (a significant upgrade to the core game engine which should provide important development benefits going forward), and partly due to us implementing larger gameplay and level changes which require extra testing. After the next update, you can expect more frequent patches and updates leading up to release.

Our next update is planned for the end of October and we aim to include the following:

  • Migration to Unreal Engine 4.20
  • A new urban map called ‘Precinct’
  • Community dedicated servers and an improved server browser.
  • Improvements to the low-quality scope option.
  • A new tattoo cosmetic option, with more varieties to come.
  • Additional Anti-Aliasing and graphics options
  • Improved character models and animations, including caching of cosmetic items to increase performance, higher quality textures, and proportion adjustments. We will be making further improvements to characters after this update as well.
  • Numerous gameplay tweaks to movement speed, weapon mechanics, armour, fire support, map layouts, and hundreds of bug fixes and improvements.

In addition to the above changes, we have also been thinking about how we can reward players who pre-ordered the game and helped provide crucial feedback during this extended beta testing period. Although player profiles will be reset before launch, we have decided that Beta testers will be rewarded with an exclusive tattoo cosmetic along with additional cosmetic appearance credits at launch. We will be releasing more information about this carryover and how to claim closer to launch. Be sure to keep an eye on our official accounts for details.

As always, your feedback and support are invaluable to our team. We’d like to thank each and every one of you who have joined the incredible number of players participating in this pre-order period and look forward to joining you on the battlefield in the next update!

Strengths:

With its powerful engine and huge wheels, the Skidder is easily able to collect logs from harsh places, and pull other vehicles through harsh terrain.

The Skidder is only able to attach a medium log trailer, and so relies on its crane or other vehicles to carry other loads to lumber mills. The K-8400 is also locked behind balance points.

The Ridge is a brand new free DLC coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One on May 29th, 2018. This second DLC will introduce brand new content to the game, including two new vehicles, a new map, and a brand new game mode - Scavenge. The new map, The Ridge, will feature a ridge that splits the map in two, and will require players to scout a route, and then make their way over the mountain.

In the lead-up to The Ridge's release, we're bringing back the Vehicle Presentation to talk to you about the awesome new vehicles coming to the game in the free DLC! This will also be a great place to ask questions about the vehicle specifically, how it handles, and the niche it fills.

Vehicle Description

Designed for the rugged terrain of The Ridge, The D-538 is a vehicle powerfully designed to recover loads while scavenging. A large vehicle, equipped with powerful offroading abilities, the D-538 is a great complement to a nimble scouting vehicle and shines when properly supported.

Game Stats

Featuring a fuel capacity of 400 litres, and able to take up to 800 points of damage, the D-538 is a powerful vehicle, able to carry large loads across mountainous terrain, and easily recover logs in Scavenge Mode.

Strengths

A vehicle featuring All-Wheel Drive, and with an always enabled Differential Lock, the D-538 is at home in the rugged hills of The Ridge.

Weaknesses

The D-538 struggles on roads, as it is built purely as an off-road vehicle.

American Wilds is a new DLC coming to Spintires: MudRunner Fall, 2018! This large DLC will introduce brand new content to the game, including several new vehicles, two new maps and a whole new location - The United States of America!

Today, we're very excited to be talking to you about the Freightliner FLD 120 1988!

Vehicle Description:
A mighty vehicle, and utilitarian road-hauler, the Freightliner FLD 120 1988 is one of the fastest trucks in Spintires: MudRunner, able to get your loads where they need to be at a brisk pace.

Game Stats:
While it is able to take 600 points of damage, and boasts a might 330L fuel tank, the FLD 120 isn't at t's best off-road. You'll be using this vehicle to master road hauling, and to take loads great distances on the asphalt.

Strengths:
With one of the largest addon complements in American Wilds, and able to equip cranes, the Freightliner will more than fill the niche needed for log pick up.

Weaknesses:
The Freightliner is one of the vehicles locked behind balance points, so you'll need to master maps before you'll be able to drive it. Not having any AWD, the Freightliner isn't suitable for off-roading.

Hello all,

Today, we're very happy to unveil an update that adds Workshop Map Support to Spintires: MudRunner on PC. What this means for you is that we now officially support map mods in Spintires: MudRunner, and players will be able to upload and download their creations through the Steam Workshop, in the same way that they can for trucks.

You will find an update to both Spintires: MudRunner and the Spintires: MudRunner Editor.

Should you need help learning how modding tools work in Spintires: MudRunner, here is our official guide. This will teach you to make both map mods and vehicle mods.

Another great community made guide, made by Torridon88, can be found here.

Changelog:

  • Multiple bug fixes and improvements to level editing mode.
  • Undo/redo history now works for changing object position and orientation.
  • Trucks are now better visualised on the map. Truck/trailer/addon picker dialog added.
  • Truck orientation can now be arbitrary. (Trucks are no longer required to be landed.)
  • Mods can now contain levels that are properly exported to the workshop.
  • Improvements were made to the "import spintires-2016 level" function.
  • Truck textures are now better optimised when exporting to the workshop.
  • Added "default screenshot for the item" function added for mods.

If you want to play older maps on this new version, you will need to convert them to the game using the conversion tool in the edtior. Once this is done, the older maps will be compatible with Spintires: MudRunner

Should you not want to move to this new update just yet, you are able to stay on the current branch by going to public branch ver_18_01_29b in your available betas.

Thank you, and we'll talk to you soon,

The Spintires: MudRunner team.

Originally scheduled for release July 18, Fear The Wolves' Early Access on Steam has now been pushed back by a few weeks. We have made this decision after closely listening to the expectations and feedback of players in the Closed Beta, which has proven a vital part of the game’s ongoing development. The Closed Beta will extend until the new Early Access launch date, allowing players to continue their exploration of the hostile and radioactive lands of a devastated Chernobyl.

The Closed Beta will stay open tonight, and will see a large update tomorrow for player feedback.

0_1531847006082_Fear__the__Wolves___1920x1080_logo.jpg

We’ve already seen tens of thousands of players battling in Fear the Wolves over the last week of the Closed beta. We are delighted that players are satisfied with the core combination of classic Battle Royale gameplay with original mechanics – particularly  the players vs. environment, radiation hazards, dynamic weather, and unique end-of-game extraction system.

The positive community feedback encouraged us to delay the release of the Early Access to ensure the well-received core experience isn’t marred by technical issues. On top of fixing these issues, this delay will also allow us to further improve other aspects of the game, thanks to the masses of data and player feedback gathered through testing.

0_1531842857053_FEAR-THE-WOLVES_2_light.jpg

We anticipate that the extra development time will raise Fear The Wolves’ quality to a level at which players will be able to fully experience it’s unique atmosphere.

Fear the Wolves will release on PC in Early Access later this summer.

The release of the full game is scheduled for 2019 on consoles and PC.

Attention Admirals, and welcome to the first devblog for Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2. In this series we’ll go over everything you need to know before release in January, from story to gameplay and back again. In this first piece we’ll go over the basic overview of the game, changes made to game modes and general concepts, as well as the key facts you’ll need to know.

Much like the original game, Armada 2 is a space RTS focused on recreating the feel and flow of naval combat, only with the giant starships and monstrous creatures of the 41st millenium. Positioning, speed changes, and turn rates must be taken into account as you manage your broadsides, rams, boarding parties, and much more.

On top of that baseline we’ve built a sequel improved in every way. All 12 factions from the original tabletop game are included and fully playable in multiplayer and skirmish games, updated and expanded for the modern Warhammer 40,000 universe. Three full campaigns tell very different stories of the fate of the galaxy as you command the Imperial, Necron or Tyranid fleets to dominance. Plus leaderboards, a custom fleet builder, along with balance and gameplay improvements.

0_1537280326216_BFGA2_screenshot02.jpg

Campaign: The campaign begins with a tutorial that depicts the fall of Cadia, an ancient fortress world that has held back the evil hidden with the Eye of Terror for millenia. Its destruction by Abaddon the Despoiler’s 13th Black Crusade sets off a chain of events that form the backdrop for our Imperial, Necron, and Tyranid campaigns. We’ll go into further detail on each in the future, including co-op, unique campaign mission elements, and the redesigned, deeper campaign structure.

Skirmish & Multiplayer: As well as the inclusion of all 12 factions, we’ve overhauled how Skirmish games are played. Each map has a number of zones that must be captured to gain points every second. You also gain points from destroying enemy ships, and wiping out the opposing fleet is still the most direct way to victory, but not the only one. You can play 1v1 and 2v2, an AI able to take any slot, with various new and returning map features.

Fleet Customisation: After picking a faction you must also select a subfaction, admiral skills, fleet upgrades, and build a fleet. Each of the 70 subfactions has a unique colour scheme, and some have their own skills or upgrades to select which represent their take on that fleet. Admiral skills are powerful abilities that only your flagship possesses, and come with long cooldowns and devastating effect. Fleet upgrades are more broad, affecting all or a subset of your ships and changing their playstyle.

Finally when building a fleet you select which ships to field, restricted only by a point total you cannot exceed. Whether you form that total out of dozens of light cruisers and escorts or a few heavy battlecruisers is up to you. Individual ships have varieties, so a single hull might be the basis for four different ships to select from, each with their own specific weapons and points values.

0_1537280473155_BFGA2_screenshot03.jpg

Multiplayer Progression: All ships and factions are unlocked from the start, so you can always deploy whatever fleet you wish against your opponent. More details on how ranked play works are coming soon.

--

Please look forward to learning more about Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 in future devblogs. Next time we’ll do a deep dive on the lore of the new galaxy, as well as exploring the game’s three campaigns.

Spintires: MudRunner - American Wilds releases on October 23rd on PC, PS4 and Xbox One and comes to Nintendo Switch on Nintendo 27th!

Vehicle Description:
A speedy truck on road, The Bison is a reliable vehicle able to get your loads where they need to be, and not troubled by inclines or tough roads.

Game Stats:
Without all-wheel drive, the Bison is not at home off-road. It can take a mighty 600 points of damage, and has a large fuel tank able to carry 330L of fuel, so it will last any trip you need it to along tough roads.

Strengths:
One of the more powerful vehicles in American Wilds, there's little that can stand in the Chevy Bison's way.

Weaknesses:
Without access to the loader attachment, the Chevrolet Bison is at the mercy of vehicles able to load it. It will need a support team to be able to complete maps. Additionally, without AWD, the Bison isn't suitable for off-roading.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, the space RTS based on the classic tabletop game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, will run two pre-order beta phases ahead of its release on January 24th next year.

On this occasion, discover brand new screenshots of the game captured during gameplay, showing a few of the 12 factions playable in the game.

The betas will feature a selection of content, including all of the 12 factions aforementioned, the introduction of two of the three massive narrative campaigns, and much more. Players who pre-order between now and release will receive access to both betas, and their vital feedback will help make Armada 2 the best game possible.

The first beta will take place in early December and is focused on multiplayer and balance. All 12 factions, the full multiplayer progression system, custom games, plus 2v2, 1v1, and versus AI will be available to everyone who pre-orders before or during this week-long event.

We will use this opportunity to listen to feedback on everything, from the balance of individual ships to the rate of unlocks. Custom fleets built of any combination of ships from a faction allow for a totally open system and Tindalos are looking forward to seeing what fans will cook up.

Included will be the Campaign Prologue - acting as a tutorial and story set up - as well as the first sectors of two campaigns. It will give a preview of the ship-building, empire-conquering, narrative-driven offerings of Armada 2 and will be just a taste of the full game.

Focus Home Interactive and former S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developers announce Fear the Wolves, a post-apocalyptic Battle Royale game for 2018!

In development for several months, Focus Home Interactive and Vostok Games – the developers who created the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise – chose the annual press event “Le What’s Next de Focus” taking place in Paris on February 7-8, to unveil Fear The Wolves, the post-apocalyptic First Person Shooter Battle Royale. Releasing in 2018, the game will offer a new and original take on the growing Battle Royale genre.

Fear the Wolves drops players, in squads or as lone wolves, into the oppressive environments of a radiation-ravaged Chernobyl. The classic Battle Royale mode forces them to fight to be the last man standing out of 100 fighters. Another intense and original game mode will also bring a fierce new twist to the genre.

To secure the top spot, players will need to worry about more than just other survivors. Across the hostile wastes, everyone is threatened by deadly anomalies and the dynamically-changing weather. Along with a day-night cycle, this constantly forces survivors to adapt their strategies, and players can find protective gear that allows them to explore dangerous off-limit zones. All the while, the howls of mutated creatures echo through the wasteland

More details on Fear the Wolves will be unveiled to attendees at the What’s Next de Focus press event in Paris, February this year. Developers at Vostok Games will be available for interviews and presentations to share more information about their upcoming hardcore Battle Royale shooter.

Fear the Wolves comes to PC and Consoles in 2018. Early Access begins this year on PC.
