I asked the developers, here's their response:
Engine emulation is still the same at its core, there is still no "tension-o-meter". But there are many improvements both to the behaviour of the vehicle (tension relative to pedal input) and to sound effects (loudness relative to RPM). There are some plans for future improvements in patches too.
I hope this answers your question!
I noticed that there were questions about vehicle customisation. I have edited the original post for clarity, but you will be able to modify your vehicles, as you were able to in the original Spintires.
What you won't be able to do is add decals, change vehicle colours, or add rim spinners. That kind of customisation.
yhea that's new !
But what I meant it's what is the "huge upgrade over its predecessor" ?
I see in the trailer, in the fluid tank the fluid move, it's look very great but nobody speek about this.
Sorry for my english i'm french
Your English is much better than my French, don't worry!
What are the new features, you ask?
Well - Spintires: MudRunner comes complete with a brand new Sandbox Map on top of the original game's 5 environments, a total graphical overhaul, a new Challenge mode with 9 new dedicated maps, 13 new vehicles and other comprehensive improvements.
