The ACOG belongs on the Security side! Insurgents can still have scopes, just not the ACOG!!!!!! All the changes and improvements in beta 2 are great, BUT YOU FORGOT TO SWAP OVER THE OPTICS!

I reckon the blood mist is good, you can clearly see if you hit. It serves it's purpose right now.

Movement acceleration (especially with more weight) and recoil (especially in crouch) are in need of changing.

I agree that there needs to be some loss of speed when zig-zagging and stopping power (slow your speed) when shot if there isn't, I haven't tested it or really focus on it when I'm shooting. I think movement is more of the problem than TTK right now.

No AP as an 'attachment' supply option. There are other ways to solve the issue. Always taking AP ammo in the OG Insurgency was annoying, It just limits load-out options.

Imo, they DON'T NEED to further reduce top speed, we need decent max top speed for big maps. They can implement baby steps like:

  • Inertia (lose speed when changing direction)
  • Tagging/Stopping power (hit when moving slows you down very briefly)
  • Not breaching through a door at sonic speeds when sprint bashing it down
  • Further weight impacts ON ACCELERATION, NOT MAX TOP SPEED (Players without armour would still reflect Mikee's 'medium-fast paced FPS' style he categorizes the game as)

They should start with a few elements like these, then iterate again.

This is a 'copy paste' from another post I made in a different thread but it fits in here too:

They do not to further reduce top speed, we need decent max top speed for big maps. I believe this is what the game needs:

  • Inertia (lose speed when changing direction)
  • Tagging/Stopping power (hit when moving slows you down very briefly)
  • Not being able to breach through a door at sonic speeds when sprint bashing it down
  • Further weight impacts ON ACCELERATION, NOT MAX TOP SPEED (So if you take items like heavy armor, RPG's, heavy carrier your TIME to reach max speed will be negatively impacted more than if you had a lighter load-out)

+1. Agreed that the acceleration speed of movements should be slower. Just to clarify for those reading through here, we ARE NOT saying that the max top sprint speed should be lowered, ONLY the time it takes to reach that max speed should be.

@Zucchini just chillax bah. Please don't just call out 'sexist' for the sake of it. Stop formulating straw-man arguments in-tangent with generic blanket terms like 'girls' in an attempt to back up your 'sexist' claim. Stop assuming what we are saying. 'Girls' can shoot guns and everyone is okay with them doing such. 'Girls' already shoot guns in the game. 'Girls' already shoot guns in real life, like in the army and female civilians that own firearms. Sure they can add more female models later, but the game is still in beta, so content should be locked. We wouldn't be here if we weren't fine with 'girls' shooting guns because they are already in the game. There are other things more important to work on.

@pacalis said in Pace is too fast.:

Your point "Further weight impacts on acceleration, not max top speed" is very strange for me

I say this because every patch that weight further reduced move speed, acceleration was never reduced along side it. Since move speed has already been reduced a few times, acceleration needs to catch up (get lower).

Top speed-----BETA 1 : [0] |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| [1]
Accel-------------BETA 1 : [0] |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| [1]

Top speed-----BETA 2 : [0] ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||--------[1]
Accel-------------BETA 2 : [0] |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| [1]

Top speed-----BETA 2 : [0] ||||||||||||||||||||||---------------[1] (later on, after another patch)
Accel-------------BETA 2 : [0] |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| [1]

This is an example that is somewhat correct. You can see that only speed was changed, acceleration is left untouched.

It should of looked like this...

Top speed-----BETA 1 : [0] |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| [1]
Accel-------------BETA 1 : [0] |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| [1]

Top speed-----BETA 2 : [0] ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||--------[1]
Accel-------------BETA 2 : [0] ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||--------[1]

Top speed-----BETA 2 : [0] ||||||||||||||||||||||---------------[1] (some patch later)
Accel-------------BETA 2 : [0] ||||||||||||||||||||||---------------[1]

Acceleration and top speed are reduced together.

@pacalis said in Pace is too fast.:

both inertia and tagging was present in Ins2, so I would be surprised if they dropped those.

Yeh since the game is still in beta, they should implement these so we can play it out. Strange it wasn't already a thing on beta launch since it was in the first game.

@pacalis said in Pace is too fast.:

So you want to be able to have the heavy guns, the heavy armor, the extra ammo and the same top speed?

No no. I don't want this. Simply put, acceleration needs to be lowered overall and further reduced the more weight you're carrying. Currently, top speed is already being negatively impacted by weight, while acceleration isn't.

EDIT: @cyoce to help understand what I meant by my last point.

The VSS is definitely a stretch no doubt, but this game already stretches things, LIKE NO ACOG FOR SECURITY LOL. It's just such a unique weapon that fulfills what the marksman class is. What other 20-round auto marksman rifles are there? I'd just prefer new/different weapons over copy paste sharing of weapons.

Definitely need some kind of reduction in movement acceleration and loss of speed when changing direction harshly, for sure (Having more weight would impact these aspects more). Additionally, a very brief loss of speed when shot should be looked at (depending on caliber, how far bullet has already traveled, if target has armor etc).

@lightspeed Just to clarify, I didn't say we need more max speed, I'm saying that it does not need to be further reduced. The max top move-speed should be left as is. So I agree with your disagreement on the matter.

The list of class stats is great and all and would totally work for a different game, like in an arcade shooter with RPG elements. You should make a game with these classes and stats lol.

The 'stats' you listed for each class pretty much already exist when you pick a specific class and the gear you pick. Example: You pick the Gunner class, so you're given access to LMG weapons that innately have attributes like slower reloads, move slower due to weapon weight, better sustained suppression output due to large magazine and effectiveness when prone etc.
To contrast, the Rifleman does not have access to LMG's, so they'd innately have faster reloads, move faster due to lighter weapon and are less effective at suppression due to 20-30 round magazines in comparison.

Although the 'Special Abilities' you listed is the only thing that could spice up the classes but i think the 'perk' would have to be reflected through a physical visual item, just like the Commander's binoculars.

Imo, each class should have a usable physical item that is exclusive to their class that the player can use.

  • COMMANDER: Binoculars (designate area and call in fire support)

  • OBSERVER: Radio (request and confirm fire support, you actually have to pull out the radio for a few seconds to call it in)

  • RIFLEMAN: No special perk/item because it's a basic no-player-limit class

  • BREACHER: Door Breaching Charge (low explosive charge you plant on door, sends shrapnel and explosive force through to the other side of the door, kills/damages any enemies in a 'narrow-ish' path behind the door. Players on the entry side can stack up next to/along side the door and you won't be harmed)

  • GUNNER: Not sure. Maybe the Gunner could put down a small bag of ammo/bullets that friendlies can interact with to refill magazines (only if you have magazines that aren't full/ones you didn't toss away from a quick reload. Each player can only replenish a certain amount, depends on weapon. Doesn't give you new full magazines, so the ammo resupply crate at spawn points doesn't become completely irrelevant)

  • DEMOLITIONS: RPG/Rocket Launcher (Becomes a new separate slot. The RPG no longer takes up an explosive/grenade slot)

  • ADVISOR: Not sure. (ideas?)

  • MARKSMAN: Not sure. Maybe a Tripod'd Monocular Spotting Scope (The marksman places it down the ground, then when prone, you or a teammate can interact with it to look into it. When a player is looking through it, any enemy they see will be automatically called out on the compass by a thin red marker just like how it is when you manually call out a spotted enemy on the communication wheel. The thin red compass marker will be thinner than normal to distinguish between a Marksman's Monocular Spot or a manual spot via the communication wheel. Each enemy can only be called out once but after 4 seconds, that marker will disappear and that specific enemy is eligible to be marked/called out/spotted again. When you look through the monocular scope, you don't put away your weapon, you simply remain prone and your weapon is just lowered to the side so when the player exits the monocular scope the transition back to aiming with your weapon is fast)

(these items are a separate slot in the load-out which can not be un-assigned, would apply to versus too)

I think the MP7 should weigh a little bit less than the Mk18, because right now they are the same weight.

If they implemented faster ADS with lighter guns, it would help the MP7.

Game needs a damage model/bullet to player interaction and not to mention movement/acceleration re-vamp in general before specific weapon tweaks.
