I played the update 1 day and the performance is much better than before (but still needs some work). At least the game is playable for me now. But this evening I wanted to play and now the game crashes on the "Focus-Loadscreen". Reinstalling the game does not fix it......
What to do?
I have found the solution:
If you start the game in window mode via start options in steam, then you get access to the game again! But it still crashes when you change to fullscreen ingame......
Dear devs and players,
I just want to give my feedback for the actual beta-stadium to the devs and you all. Here is my actual gaming-rig:
- Intel I7 4790K
- Geforce GTX 1070 ichill X4 from Inno3D
- 16 GB Kingston HyperX DDR3-RAM
- 1 TB Samsung 850 EVO SSD
First bug was detected at start:
- My character had no pants on and had invisible legs
About the performance:
You improved the game from test to test. Pre-Alpha test was garbage, first short beta test was better but still not nice to play, this actual test is PLAYABLE. What means playable? There are still a lot of bugs and the graphics still needs a lot of improvements, but I get a much more consistent framerate on highest settings than ever before.
If I set all on highest I get FPS like 75-85 FPS with framedrops in between. In my opinion you are doing good in the short time you had since the last test. You should keep focusing on performance improvement and after this you should work on better lighting and graphic settings.
Actual the game looks way to bright for me. The lighting looks very unnatural for me, because everything is bright and there are not much shadows. Last step should be improvement of movement and size of the characters. They look a little bit silly in proportions/size.
Keep on working
You should remember, that this is a BETA! I got an older CPU (4790K) and less RAM (16 GB DDR3), but it is still working on 80 FPS on HIGHEST SETTINGS (with framedrops). I also use an GTX 1070.
Compared to the last closed beta test, they already improved very well! You should run this game easily on highest, when its optimised.
Dear dev's and players,
here is my own opinion about Insurgency Sandstorm:
I also played the alpha and I can say, that you improved the game in a short time. For example the scopes show the vision now clear and sharp. In the alpha you just saw pixels through them. There is still a lot to improve, but the game really looks promising. Sure there are animations, that needs to be improve, characters needs to get a better bodysize (more propotional) and many bugs needs to get fixed.
For me the biggest problem is the performance. Here is my rig:
- I7 4790K 4x4 GHZ
- Inno3D ichill X4 GTX 1070
- 16 GB Kingston HyperX DDR3-RAM
- 1 TB SSD
This should be powerfull enough to perform this game at maximum details, but even on lowest settings I experience framerates from 44-50 in action zones and 80-100 fps in chilled zones. This also depends on which map is loaded.
Pro-argument is the fantastic sounddesign. Here you really did a great job.
Also I think the large scaled maps are pretty good, but i also would suggest you to create maps with not so much possible ways to move. For my personal taste the new maps are a bit too much labyrinth for me. This makes the game a bit confusing and you get killed by every edge.
Please don't kill me for my next idea, but I really miss Team-Deathmatch and Deathmatch. Also you can think about a battle-royal mode. With adding these 3 game modes you would release a "full package" of an addicting hardcore shooter.
