Parish, how the guns perform is secondary to how the game performs. The guns, no matter how balanced, or unbalanced, are irrelevant if the game lags to hell. You don't work on petty shit when you have some pretty serious performance issues and need those worked out, so people will play. It's called prioritizing.
In reality, what you want, is for them to work backwards and that just doesn't work. You don't do the fine tuning before you get the core mechanics tuned right.
I think most here will agree. Please hold out making any further additions and work on finding memory leaks, address net code, hitching and lag in general. Once you get it ironed out and running more smoothly, then start adding more.
Other than that, great work and nice patch. Keep it up!
I think it's correct, because my lag gets progressively worse, as the game goes on. I think it gets REALLY bad if I'm being spectated, but I don't know how to tell if anyone is watching me. The more spectators though, the more lag for me, always. I was playing just a few minutes ago and it was terrible. This should be priority NUMERO UNO DEVS. Start by looking for memory leaks.
You are right, it is an amazing game. One problem is, the freebie kiddies, that got free beta access, didn't get the game for free and went on crybaby tirades, in the reviews, flinging fictitious poo all over the place, because the devs didn't just give them the game. Really, it's quite a pathetic situation and the kids that did it are just trash.
The game does need some quick optimizations pushed out, to help with hitching and lag. The game won't release my RAM for several minutes, after being closed down, so I'm guessing there are at least a few memory leaks. It's a completely safe assumption as it is very difficult, if not next to impossible to have an EA release game without a single memory leak, unless you have very experienced developers.
If the devs will listen, I know how they can get the game back on track. It's not dead yet. It was just released and still has planned release for console, which if they start PR now and do it right, those launches will be smashing successes. They are going to need to follow the PUBG model to do it. PUBG didn't just become a success because it's good. They used a PR method that was basically free to them and got them ALOT of coverage, viewers and interest. That's what has to be done here. About 200 partnered streamers, streaming 6-8hrs a day, on good servers, with good optimization and watch the people start to play.
Probably US Barbarrossa. When it does fill up, 1/2 of the people are Chinese, lagging the shit out of the server and abusing lag switching, for a cheap advantage. They did the same shit on PUBG. They are also the highest populace of cheaters on any game. The number of cheaters, coming from China, playing PUBG, was absolutely unbelievable. Literally in the millions. They were even openly selling their damn cheats right on the PUBG STEAM forum. They need to be locked to their own region. They only create problems. Of course atm, it's kind of a necessary evil, to get a full server.
