Not to mention that shotties have EIGHT rounds, limited ammo, and are slowwww to reload. There are trade-offs. I rarely run as Breacher for that reason.

In reality 12ga 000 buck has an effective range out to ~50yds (~45m). Slugs, over 100yds. Fletchettes should be a least option, ok for up close room clearing. The devs need to add buck as an option. Otherwise, I don't see a problem.

For the devs:
How much longer before server files and/or private lobby will release? Trying to play as a clan right now is really awkward. We only play COOP, I run two INS2 private servers which we love, but we are really looking forward to this ability in Sandstorm.

Being an original INS2 player for years, I'd like to see the spawns moved up in like manner to that game. I like the larger maps but running for the first few minutes after spawn (200m out...really?) gets very tedious and can leave you out in the open too long. Once you are on an objective, yes you need to slow it down and methodically room-clear if you want to survive\win. That IS very INS2. The maps still need tweaking but as the devs exemplified with the most recent patch, that is being worked on.

Not seeing any real improvement...stuttering/freezes are still there and too often. Yes, Crossing and Summit are the worst maps performance-wise.

Agreed. We're in no rush. INS2 is running really well with our current hardware, and who knows maybe NW will pleasantly surprise us with optimization patches.

Yah, I've seen a bit of that (good reports using i5 or i7 w/older vid cards) and don't quite get it. As for AMD, likely I'll consider an i7 next upgrade.

Yes I realize that; I did state that we know that we are running older hardware. I wasn't comparing performance, just wondering if AMD architecture would benefit as much as Intel in regards to optimization efforts.

...this is also the reason why we did not publish minimum hardware requirements as we want them to be as accurate as possible.

We'll be looking forward to those, more from a "what upgrades do we need" perspective than a "can we get by" one. Altho' Christmas (and related sales events) aren't that far off so we might get by until then, depending. 😉
