We're always happy to know our game is trigerring the interest of players.
What I can reply to you you for now is that, of course some situations have to be negociate, especially all the diplomatic meeting. Your appearance won't change the interaction people have with you (except in very specific situations). From a progression point of view, we're working on the balancing of the game to let every player have his/her own run with a fair leveling.

It's just genreric words, animal would be more these lizards (anything consistent with real life, even if they don't really exist) and creature will be more mystical, magical beings (like the one in the trailer). But honnestly, that's just my wording, don't overthink that :)
In GreedFall we trying indeed to cut down on backtracking and lots of quick travel points will be available. Most of the quests will request you to return to questgiver for consistency (as a diplomat you often need to discuss some aspect after a quest). But the diversity of quests you can do in parallel (for your companions, for each factions) will allow you to optimize your travel and not necesserally bactracking with some questgiver.
