Yeah I agree with pretty much everything the OP said, especially the winches needing work, and maps on the workshop would be fantastic. I also think mud chunks need to be worked on. They don't have to be removed entirely, I like the idea of tires getting clogged up with mud, but currently they are just odd looking. Too big and it kinda looks like someone stuck a bunch of brown chunks of gum on your tires. They also clip through vehicle fenders, it's especially noticeable on the K-700.
It would also be nice if rock collisions were improved so this doesn't happen.
I use a DS4 controller instead of an Xbone (I think they feel and look better) and I got tired of forgetting which button was which so I replaced all of the Xbox icons with the DS4 equivalents. I figured there might be some other people like me so if you are one of those people here is a link to a zip with all the files you need to replace. Just copy all the textures from the zip and paste them in the TextureCache.zip, also make some backups of the originals in case you want to revert back.
And here is a preview of the controls diagram. I can't get a preview of the icons because they change as soon as I press F12 on my keyboard so you'll just have to trust me that they work.
Like others have said the larger vehicles would have a hydraulic winch or something similar that would require the engine to be running, and steering is much harder without the engine on IRL so it makes sense that it would be slower. I do agree though that the smaller vehicles should have electric powered winches so they can recover themselves. It doesn't sound like there is going to be a MudRunner + so it would be nice to see this in the game, especially with all the US trucks on the workshop that would without a doubt have electric winches.
