Everyone may have noticed a trend when it comes to multiplayer in this game. Everyone seems to spam large, expensive ships while ignoring cheaper alternatives in numbers. I believe this is due to a simple reasoning, a large ship micromanaged perfectly will always outperform a large number of weaker ships which are performing incorrectly. Essentially the difficulty of controlling a fleet of 10 or more lighter ships will always be impossible due to the micromanagement of each individual ability and system. To sum it up, I think we need to bring back auto-cast abilities. Even if the auto-caster is terrible at its job, it will still be better than doing nothing and allow a larger fleet diversity instead of relying entirely on a small number of expensive ships. This change may allow players to move away from the current, only take 3-6 ships, meta.
Here are the fleet files for the Orks and Tau. Although the bug persists no matter how many times I delete and make a new fleet with a similar build. This bug only seems to affect Ork big roks and Kroot Warsphere as far as I can tell. I have also encountered other players with their fleet affected in the same manner so it is not only me.
Apparently this bug is not specific to the Tau either, all ships that are not capable of being a flagship now force themselves into the flagship position after battle start even though they are not in the slot.
It seems it is activated by the non-flagship/mercenary ship being the highest ship class of the selected fleet, which for some reason automatically makes it the flaship.
Bug affecting Orks
When selecting a Tau Protector fleet, if it includes a Kroot warsphere, the warsphere will become the flagship automatically. It does this even though a different ship is set as the flagship in fleet builder, especially since warspheres are not allowed in the flagship position in fleet builder. This bug is easily replicable and happens every battle start when certain criteria are met.
In the seen picture here, the light-cruiser was suppose to be the flagship but it changed to the warsphere when the match was started.
While going through the campaign and after defeating the first Eldar special mission, unlocking the Agrippina sector. My game will crash everytime I move my Space marine fleets that participated in the mission.
I can move any other fleet but specifically my Space Marine fleets will cause -Render Error code 1015- and crash the game everytime I move them. I only managed to move them over 1 planet once without crashing.
