Who arrives in the middle of a war zone and thinks to themselves "Okay, now's a good time to load my rifle"? If you're riding in on the truck before the shooting has started, then fine. But if you're being shipped out to a location where you know shit has hit the fan and people are dying, the last you'd want is to have to faff about trying to load your rifle while enemies are advancing on your position.

Sure, let's just remove anything fun from the game because someone might get butt hurt and take it personally.

If someone actually gets salty because of some stupid pre-game lobby shenanigans, then that person needs to lighten the hell up. Most everybody I've played with knows that the TKing in pre-game lobby is just people goofing around. It's very rarely an indicator of how the match is actually going to go.

Funny thing is, I realized after about 10 hours the reason why I was having such a hard time killing enemies was because I was spraying bullets like a madman. Once I learned to control recoil properly (Stand still while shooting, hold breath if possible, use a stable firing stance like crouching, use mouse to correct for weapon kick, etc.) the TTK felt pretty much like INS:Source but without AP rounds making everything instagib.

But it's clear to me that both sides of the fence can't really come to an agreement. So we just have to agree to disagree.

@thehappybub Wasted breath, I'm afraid. They've already convinced the devs to nerf armor to the point that it's basically useless. Light armor does almost nothing, and heavy armor only makes a difference against 9 guns... 3 of which can kill you anyway under the right circumstances.

Those of us who actually like a higher TTK are being completely outvoted by the people who hate it, I'm afraid. I fully expect armor to be nerfed even further to the point it essentially becomes INS:Source again.

Light armor is negligible at best. Heavy armor only makes a difference against 9 guns, 3 of which can one-shot you anyway under the right circumstances.

Devs, just get rid of armor if you’re going to keep nerfing it so much.

@thehappybub I hate to be that guy but... while I appreciate the insight and explanation, at the end of the day this is a video game. NWI has, in the past, sacrificed authenticity for game balance.

@marksmanmax Well, considering the number of people cheering about the armor nerf, my guess is we'll end up right back at INS:Source's "everything instagibs" play style...

Sadly, it's what the majority is voting for.

@ottiz Not only that, we really need a way to deal with targeted griefing. I had a match once where one dude's friend died from a chemical mortar strike I called in because he never put on his mask. His friend kept chasing me and trying to kill me every time he respawned.

The kick system right now doesn't account for human stupidity or human pettiness.
