I have disabled all in game graphics with my Radeon settings. I than launch the game from Radeon and this has helped me a bunch. It seems to degrade over time but a game relaunch, again from Radeon, seems to fix it. I still run it on low, but get FPS as high as 130. I am no developer, but this tells me the issue is in the games graphic settings.
I have an RX580 8gb and since the Nov 8th update this game has been unplayable with micro-stutter. I just used my Radeon settings to override the game settings and so far (only one game) no stuttering. This may not be true for all maps. Time will tell, but for now it seems the problem is internal to Sandstorms GPU settings.
Nov 14th patch made it playable at times on ultra-low settings. If I don't get a server with a really low (30-50 ping) stable ping, the stuttering keeps it unplayable.
This is sad, since I was able to run it on high at 30-80 fps pre-Nov 8th patch.
The original game ran ok for me, now its unplayable.
Ryzen 3 1300 OC
8gb ram 2600
50-60 FPS high settings, low scope
smooth game play, just low fps
80-90 FPS med settings. low scope
micro stutters every time I get near a BOT and about every 20-30 secs.
So I waited a few hours and finally tried a round. Was showing 80 FPS and my screen was nothing but laggy jittery garbage. Try to run around an object only to see it appear right in my face, over and over and over. Dear God my favorite and most anticipated game is dying before official launch.
Watched the vid, I have to mostly agree with @AMURKA . All I saw was a bunch of snappy shots, like you were holding down left mouse as the reload was happening. You were everywhere with those shots.
This is beta not a full game yet. It will be in the full game of course, so will many other items that seem missing.
It's much better since the 9/6 patch, but still there. I have one hit heavy armored guys in the torso with sniper rifles since that update and it felt really good. Had a couple of servers that ran like a dream and today it seems to be slipping back. Have had center mass and head shots not registering today. Yesterday I ran sniper all day and it was glorious. 90/100 hits registered.
IRL they have brightness settings. The correct setting is dim to where you can barley see it, that removes the brightness blur. If you shoot them blurred out in full brightness, you are not accurate. They would only work as a quick reaction sight for close engagements.
I've also noticed if you use a holo and a laser the blur is much worse.
I agree, this should be dimmer to remove the blur. As is they are unplayable for me, that's ok too - I'll just run my irons. I recall the videos from E3 with the lasers being huge ultra bright red dots, but they said they were just place keepers, kinda hoping the same here.
I took this screen shot with this weird stretched out glitch. Have only seen it once and the player I was spectating just used the MAAW. The player didn't see it, just spectators.
This glitch is back. I am selecting full screen, but its running border less. Click a hidden edge and screen freezes while my mouse appears. Just started today for me 9/9. Since it only happens on a click, its always the worst time.
Found an area where you can get stuck on a map. Took a screen shot and zoomed in on the coordinates. I think it was summit. Fell in between two walls.
Actually bud, the reality is there's so many of us haters out there is because its not living up to be Insurgency currently... Its because we are so passionate about this game is why we are so critical. I and many others believe a massive kudos are in due for the good folks at NWI. To transform to a new engine, and develop this great looking game the way they have is no small feat. That said, we love this game as much as you do. But that doesn't mean we need to turn a blind eye to its problems, that's why we have beta testing. To test and fix the game before the masses get it. And currently, it appears the game needs more than two weeks to get up to the quality that we the fans expect from the great Insurgency name.
What say you now? That Sept 6 patch was a beast and I expect more. They confidently said no early access at E3, the game will hard launch in mid Sept as a full game. I chose to believe them. They are taking full advantage of this beta and making huge strides. Optimization is way better, the miss diagnosed TTK and OP heavy armor is much much better with the hit reg fix (same patch). This game is feeling more and more like INS2 with better looks. Give me Hunt and some night maps. Turn the modders lose on some custom servers, I'm sure they have tons of ideas already to go.
Last nights patch just about eliminated TTK and heavy armor issues. I still have a miss hit reg from time to time, but wow what a difference. One popping guys with bolt action wearing heavy armor, very satisfying.
And what does everyone have to say after last nights patch. This game is coming right along. The biggest issue in the game was hit reg and this patch just about took it completely away. Just reinforces my point, must don't know what a beta is for.
What! It's a beta. There will be no votes in a beta, they are not testing votes. 3rd person view is also not a priority. Hit Reg is and I'd say its top priority and has seen huge improvements since beta 1. You need to understand what a beta is for. I would guess the entire UI will be different on the hard release date and will include lots of items we would expect in any game. This beta is for them, not you. It's not a full game yet. They have said over and over on the hard release date 6 maps and more game modes. I would expect the same modes as INS2 and DOI since they are not testing new modes. I am so thankful I was a beta tester back in the day and understand what it is. So many DEVs have ruined games by putting them on "early access". That is nothing more than, hey pay us now, so we can stop working. With posts like this I bet NWI is thinking a closed beta would have been better..., or they just sift through and toss it, to get to what they need, bug reports. If they release this game in mid Sept and its the same, than post something like this.
