Maybe so, but without any information theres no way to know for sure.

As far as I can tell, these guys need to do a whole lot better than they're doing now to keep this afloat. Plenty of people still just want to have a playable game, and plenty more are waiting to have a chance to play it if/when it comes out on consoles. Thing is, in other places (mainly steam forums) people are starting to move on, and abandon the game altogether.

There are comments saying that after all of the non-communication and disrespect from focus they just don't want the game anymore and honestly? I don't blame them. The game may be good but from a company that treats its customers with this level of contempt? To some it just isn't worth it

I'm one of them, and I want my money back!

Luckily for me (despite Valve's refusal) I may be in the right.

I implore ALL AUSTRALIANS WHO ARE UNHAPPY WITH THIS TO FOLLOW THIS UP!
To all non Australians, check your countries consumer laws.
They can't steam roll us all, hell if a little country like mine 'AUSTRALIA!' can hold Valve to task, imagine what a FEW NATIONS CAN DO?

I was also told that after the appeal loss in Australia, to contact America's FTC.

I asked what that would do considering I'm Australian and they basically don't really have consumer protection,
the man on the phone explained that AFTER THE APPEAL LOSS, the FTC might be very interested to listen since it means Valve is going against the law in OTHER COUNTRIES.

For focus to actually earn the consumers' trust back they need to actually say something of value and give us actual updates. They also need to tell us an actual date, not a quarter or "early", and actually meet that date. Telling us you can't update us while simultaneously giving no context hardly does anything but irritate more people

While a hard street date would be nice, personally I'd just appreciate something like...
"yes there is a delay, we apologize try back q1 2018, because..... yada yada yada, we had issues with performance/coding/whatever, bla bla bla we'll be on it"

Or better yet... "To all customers, we are now allowing refunds!"

^^^ YEP. This is a joke.

if it is I ain't laughing.

To ALL AUSTRALIAN STEAM SUBSCRIBERS:

I just lodged a complaint with the ACCC.
Indeed after the recent appeal I mentioned above I may actually be in the right according the kind lady on the phone.

I told her I indeed did prove it wasn't my system or user error, I have contacted the devs/publisher (a response on a forum counts apparently, especially if its an official response), I have told Valve all this in my refund requests that have been denied, even the recent one citing the ACCC's win in the courts recently.

She took down my details, told me that yes they ARE bound by AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW in Australia especially after Valve's appeal loss, considering I have gone out of my way to prove the above things that THEY ARE REQUIRED to follow local laws if they're operating in Australia, even if its an online store ;)..... and that its getting looked into.

Its a start 😉

Your totally right brother jb0809, but people r going crazy!

As far a I'm aware, Streumon didn't officially set the Dec 5th deadline which I feel is the issue here.
As you say, no one apologised nor said theyre delaying when obviously they should have... then people probably wouldn't be like this... but wouldn't people rather it be polished and balanced than released as another buggy mess at Xmas... I think people would be livid if that happened! Yes! they've past the end of year deadline... However, they're still working on the game, they seem to have hit a snag, and will be more specific soon.

Streumon - a small dev team, may be bad communicators, they may be unorganised, but have nonetheless worked tirelessly to patch their game as well as add new things like the Chaplain and special missions, when in this day n age other companies do zilch to rectify their game. Obviously and understandably, many were angry on release though I doubt Streumon wanted to release it then.
They state the EE is totally free for pc owners which to my mind shows good will for releasing prematurely in Dec 16, and there are no insidious micro-transactions to speak of as well.

People have a right to be angry and complain, but I think people are going overboard, that's all I mean, and Streumon really should release a statement asap!

I'm sorry we should be gracious for being given the rest of the broken game, because its free?!?

We were told the product was ready to launch when it was released,

which is why I'm going overboard, I can't comment on anyone else though. But yes they NEED to tell us what is going on,
because they've broken they're contract and trust with the consumer, the ones that keep them afloat (we'll see for how long).

Remind them of this... and the fact that they have a LEGAL OBLIGATION AS A VENDOR TO ABIDE BY THE CONSUMER LAWS OF THE COUNTRIES THEY ARE OPERATING IN.

THEY'RE REFUND POLICY DOESN'T OUTWEIGH CONSUMER LAW IN YOUR COUNTRY!

Then show us proof for fk sake!
Even if its just a 2 minute gameplay grab of ACTUAL COMBAT NOT RUNNING LIKE CRAP!

Its been over a year, and I pretty much don't care anymore.

I want my money back.

Its been over a year,
We've been sold a broken product,
I live in Australia,
YOU or VALVE are breaking consumer law by denying me a refund considering I've flat out told you and valve and provided evidence over and over and over and over again that it just doesn't work on rigs that should eat it alive.

I want my money back.

I remember Sony allowing Valve to refund some copies of No Man's Sky that were waaaaaaaaay over the two hour mark considering they were sold..... an incomplete product.
So in the spirit of consumer laws, can you please allow VALVE to offer me a refund? or offer your customers who have gone out of they're way to prove that it doesn't reasonably work for them a refund?

Because this is looking like a potential legal quagmire.
