2013 tech demo represent
Found Spintires in 2013 when it was still in Tech Demo. Joined the Oovee forums and played Tech Demo for a year before the full game came out in 2014. Survived the absolute shitstorm that was the following 3 years. Blamed both Oovee and Pavel. Settled on blaming both.
Now I'm here!
I have a question for the developers. How are vehicles for DLC decided on? Do you have a "wish-list" of vehicles you'd like to include or are they thought of randomly? These tractors are very cool but they can't be that easy to find in the real world for reference data. Are there any vehicles the devs would like to add but can't due to insufficient data, or are unknown things just improvised?
The new vehicles are awesome, and I love how the map looks but actually playing it is weird. Some roads have a smooth texture that looks like firm compacted dirt, but they're usually softer than the grass next to them? The checkpoint that doesn't allow any logs through right before the sawmills is really strange as well. I know from a gameplay perspective its so you can't take the most direct route, but it feels strange. Are they cops? Are we illegal loggers?
I like it, seems to be what would happen if a 255 and 4310 loved each other very much lol. Beefy tires and very, very strong like the kraz but in a smaller kamaz form. It's also one of the better looking "don't sue us we swear its not X" grill modifications, the various kamaz really didn't take those well.
Also, what is this about Mudrunner USA? Is it just something people want or is it for real? If so.. how would it be different exactly? It would just have american instead of russian trucks, and english on the buildings instead of cyrillic...
Whoa this looks seriously cool man. The sheer attention to detail really shows with those hand-crafted cliffs instead of the overlay, and I love the mudslide. Definitely a new standard for map mods. Hopefully I can learn the editor and make maps even approaching this quality
