@skube when the 1st lore linked the Genestealers to Tyranids the way they were described was as an advanced infiltration species that was bio-constructed to be able to be ultra hardy and withstand the cold vacuum of deep space as well as stay in a full cryogenic slumber almost indefinitely. To further their ultra hardcore abilities, they also were able to reproduce using most life forms with basic genetic material therefore eschewing the need for the typical bio breeding soup and associated tyranid construct to multiply. There full intent was to be able to spread into nearby systems many generations in advance and slowly weaken the planetary defences via internecine and covert methods so that when the hive fleets finally made an entrance into said sector, that there could be a final uprising by the many different hybrid life forms to facilitate an easier domination of the planet before being completely stripped of all but the bare rock, for re-use!
@jab all told it’s a co-op game so I’d rather the squadies be well equipped, it’ll be experience in dealing with their equipment on the foe that they will eventually learn. If it was PvP I’d agree as then there is an unfair advantage. There isn’t, and rightly so, a ranking system so it shouldn’t have a competitive feel about it, so anyone getting their nose out of joint needs to relax and play a co-op game with the spirit they are designed for - mutual co-operation and enjoyment. If that annoys people, I’m sure they can find a PvP game out there that they can stooge their team mates for points just to bolster their online persona and ego.
As the delegated member for the Allied Workplace and Fair Practices Union, I’d just like to to bring to attention the obvious budgetary cuts that the hardworking and long term Union member that is the Dark Angels Chapter are currently enduring. There has been no official documentation to advise the imminent sharing of facilities with the dubious and very common members of the various Guard units in this sector, so you can believe my surprise where upon conducting my usual weekly inspection of the armoury, cafeteria, gymnasium and sun lounge, that I was to walk into this atrocious sight! Can you fathom, a rack of Goddwyn Pattern Bolters, the finest offensive scalpel in the Adeptus Astartes armoury, situated in the same vicinity as Guardsmens sweaty lockers and their feeble laser tag ‘rifles’!!!! I expect a full explanation and that this blight be remedied post haste or, my fine sirs, expect Union muscle to be forthcoming. The dreaded Strike option is not off the cards. Good day
Far from crap, it may not be perfect but I’m glad I own it as it is a huge step forward in immersion compared to the turn based top down versions of the board game that have come before it. That was my original aim in purchasing it, even if there was no online co-op or if it was lacking as having the screaming chittering xenos hordes descending from the walls and popping out of vents to overwhelm me in 1st person view is exactly what I got. It will always be in my collection now.
Has my squad in campaign been swapped out with complete oxygen thief retards as some sort of joke? For real, they are absolutely useless! Either straight up walking in front of my already blazing storm bolter, or facing the wrong direction to the well established combat situation. And what sort of apothecary can’t determine his level of injury in order to judge whether he should possibly use his main skill set and equipment? Similarly when the display of his fellow battle brothers indicates they will soon be only worth the extraction of their gene seed, that again it’s probably time to show what all those operations before becoming a full Space Marine were for and F@&KIN’ heal them! I mean cmon, in no lore would a specialist Marine class ever need explicit permission from a squad leader in order tho perform a duty that if not done would seriously jeopardise the success of a mission, and I cannot for the life of me think of a random enough circumstance where voluntarily allowing either himself or his brethren to perish due to a lack of being ordered to do so. Why make the game with so many authenticity’s and have such an important factor as a Space Marines superb training and unit cohesion out, and even more so the extremely experienced and almost superhuman traits of the 1st company of a chapter. It’s like they are mere Guardsmen parading about as pseudo Terminators. A severe blow to immersion I have to admit. Must be rectified if the campaign is anything more than a tacked on afterthought.
@kommodore77 I am a Chaplain! Lemartes - Guardian of the Lost. It’s my role to steer the frothing psychopaths of the Death Company into glorious close combat and inevitable oblivion to save them from an eternity of madness and visions of our primarch’s final moments while saving the God Emperor from the cursed Horus. These echoes of Honour and Duty will forever taint our proud and illustrious, much honoured chapter. Now the voices I speak are from my iPhone on loud speaker so never you worry about my enduring sanity.
@kommodore77 I can’t see any reason that they couldn’t be used while keeping to a lore based focus, there really aren’t any dead set stipulations as to what loadout a chapters 1st Company could/would choose. Fitting to game rules is a different kettle of fish. As far as the elite of the elite go, take what you are proficient with and that fits the pre mission plan. As far as the fence in chapter 3 - I’m pretty sure the Cyclone can deal with that lol. A power fist is out of the question with the Cyclone as the free hand has the targeting module incorporated in the standard gauntlet like the Storm Bolter hand.
@psyco absolutely! Any game being made these days without the option to configure all controller inputs is behind the times and in reality lazy game design. Not a difficult or lengthy coding task and absolutely very much a commonly needed/used/requested function. Similarly with all options they need at least basic description of what it is exactly they are changing so that coupled with peoples modern display settings, that a desired effect can be achieved as fast as possible.
In mission 2 of campaign when hacking turrets it regularly stays in the hacking screen and never actually finishes the hack so after manually backing out the hacking dial and message to press circle ️ to back out of hacking stays on the main screen not allowing any other button prompts to be used. I had to quit to the main menu to reload again.
@jab maybe it’s because written text doesn’t convey tone or emotive intent, but there was no deriding anyone in particular, as has been said before, insult is implied not intended. I still mean 100% of what I stated, if you take offence to that, I can’t control how you read it, only an explanation of the way it is intended. You did ask people’s opinions and I plainly gave it. Nowhere did I target anyone and as in our previous conversing, I again stated that my humour means no ill will or harm. Possibly an indicator of this might be the smiley face at the end of the post. You are also confusing the ratings and the obviously misread story posted by 1 Australian about a refund but that is because of the legislation here, in no way does it pertain to involve a minor xp farming exploit. Please do your homework properly before lumping all and sundry behind your personal gripe with a bug that only affects people being salty because of a teammates artificial level. Just sit back, relax have a coke and a smile coz it is what it is, and there ARE more serious bugs to be prioritised I’m sure many will agree.
