@doghead I did notice more 1-shot kills with the SVD today. I haven't used the mosin after the patch so I will have to try it again.

Check out this video of a US soldier being hit by a sniper. He most likely had high level body armor and just the force of the bullet didn't just knock the wind out of him, he dropped like a brick.

Sniping is very hard to call realistic when the sprinting speed is like Usain Bolt with 50lbs+ gear with a long rifle. Enemies can cross roads in less than 2 seconds and even if they get hit by a 762x54R round they are not slowed down when they should be on their ass. In CQB everyone can strafe and sprint like they are playing COD. A HUGE problem with the movement is the absence of inertia or momentum. Someone can change directions without slowing down at all. Trying to turn 180 degrees with all that weight should take at least 1 full second. Escape From Tarkov has this done well, kind of.

Here is an example of a situation where the target should have had to deal with inertia from running so fast.

Something that makes the combat way better that NWI has done is an aiming deadzone when not ADS. This is a great thing that was brought from Ins2 and should definitely stay.

@biass On PVP the Mosin is definitely ineffective against players with heavy armor. I have tried many times to do well with a standard Mosin, close and long range, and there is no reason to use it instead of the SVD.

Yeah I think sniper rifles should be 1-hit kill most of the time. Even with heavy armor. Another solution would be to make someone slow down significantly or fall down when they get hit. Wearing armor, a round as big as .308 or 762x54R should at least put you on your ass with the wind knocked out of you and multiple broken ribs.

"They are too large"

With the new engine I think the maps should be bigger than Crossing or Hideout. With longer range combat it would be way more realistic, kind of like squad.
Think of all the IRL combat footage you see and veteran accounts of combat. Most contacts are 300m or further. The CQB though is really good apart from the cod-like movement speed and strafe speed.

A real warfighter wouldn't say anything like that in close quarters. In long range it would be more plausible though.

I took a break from the game and when I came back I noticed the reduced prices for cosmetics. I'm so glad now that I don't have to grind forever for gear!
