@jballou yeah that's bad too, but then with the damage reflection you'd just be replacing one bad thing with an other
Loved your insurgency mod work btw. Your botspawns plugin especially
If player 1 = actively rigging cache, and cache receives damage from player 2, player 2 receives that damage
I agree with everything in your post except this ^ ... I get what u are trying to do though, but the problem is that only the one person that blows up the cache gets rewarded with points and they way people behave. Imho, there shouldn't be points awarded to 1 person for this. The people who covers the one rigging/planting deserve just as much credit. Your team wins or your team fails (especially in coop mode). Damage reflecting and other weird mechanisms to fight this just kills the immersion/realism.
isnt that already the case? what do you mean...
2 big problems right now (in checkpoint):
- the game is too easy.. people rushing just to get to the enemies first so they can have some action. This also makes the mortars etc pointless, because by the time they land everyone has already captured that spot and moved on.
- the game only rewards the person that blows up the cache, so everyone wants to do it. doesn't matter if there is a demolition guy with C4 that can do the job in 2 sec. no, everybody wants to rig the cache.
Get rid of that stupid point system. In fact, ditch the scoreboard in co-op. The team wins or the team fails. Not individuals. Honestly, it's like you don't even know what co-op games should be about.
please, have SMALLER teams & MORE/deadlier enemies => it will slow down the gameplay and require teamwork.
in my experience they are very sensitive to sound. If you crouch or walk however (and I mean walk.. not just run without sprinting) they don't hear you coming.
No don't revert it. bots are better now! keep improving!
What you mean wow? I don't expect you to agree with me, but can you at least understand my point? Tell me how it affects you, if someone else cheats in solo mode.
So you are ok with people downloading hacks or using exploits to unlock everything in local/solo? No, you should have a seperate xp system with seperate unlocks. 1 for solo and one for co-op.
Unlocking things through exploits in single player and taking those unlocks to co-op would be wrong.
Yeah it doesn't affect my gameplay (or yours really...), so I'm okay with that. I am not okay with wallhackers and aimbotters and other things. Some people like to unlock things as they go, some just want access to all of it from the start. Since it doesn't give you any advantage, I don't really see the problem.
For example.. you join an online game, you see 2 people wearing fancy camo. One of them cheated to get it, one of them unlocked it by playing a lot. You can't tell the difference, both of them could have unlocked it fairly or cheated to get it. Makes no difference? At least to me it doesn't it doesn't ruin your game, does it?
@amurka it shouldnt give xp. It will be exploited. If solo play is done offline I give it a week before hack sites begin offering a hack to xp your way up in 10 minutes to unlock everything.
and why is that a problem? I don't see how that affects other people's games?
