I'm asking for an implementation of a one-life-game mode. The developers, in the weekly live stream events, are always rationalizing their excuse not to implement a one-life game mode, saying "insufficient volume in player-base" or "splitting the community." In my assessment, when I played from 2014-2016, there was one ambush server, and that ambush server was consistently full. Yes, I agree Ambush was atrocious for many reasons. Allow me to list the OBVIOUS problems that we, as a small community, complained and endured on a daily basis. No switching sides after round 3(gave the opposing team on defense advantage). VIP rushes and dies, which resulted in an upsetting loss. Insufficient amount of maps compared to another game mode. The popularity of Ambush dwindled in non-ambush servers because Ambush was rarely apart of the rotation, so people never learned the game mode. Strike, another one life mode was the worst one-life game mode I've ever played in any game. Destroying objective was difficult and rarely worked. Destroying a cache is non-attractive. Its as if the developers never played these two game modes in which these simple issues, at no time, were ever addressed. If Ambush or Strike wasn't popular, it's not because people dislike one life game modes, it's because the developers failed somewhere along the line, hence the success with Americas Army 2, Cod 1, and Allied Assault.
What about a Modified Ambush?
Instead of a VIP, what about a briefcase/Intel? If you have the intel in your hands, you cannot carry a weapon(Only a pistol). If the person dies with the intel, you can retrieve it. If the enemy retrieves it, game loss. You will also have your two points to cross, A OR B. Your main weapon should flip onto your back, only your pistol can be your hands when carrying the briefcase. You should be able to drop it too. Intel/Briefcase isn't given to a random person either. It's the person who can pick it up first at spawn. I think this idea can improve numbers for Ambush.
